Country superstar Luke Bryan pays tribute to small town life in his new single “Country Does,” from his forthcoming deluxe version of 2020 album Born Here, Live Here, Die Here.
Bryan previewed the track for fans during a Thursday evening, February 4 livestream, before dropping the studio version of the song on Friday, February 5.
“Country Does is about the way I was brought up, it’s just about my small town way of life and the first time I heard it, I knew I had to record it,” Bryan explained the meaning of the song.
“Country is, as country does / Long as the salt gets licked and the corn grows thick and the sun comes up / country is, as country was / round here the good ole days ain’t far away cause you can’t change us / proud of your family / proud of your name / proud of the mud running through your veins / they say nothing don’t ever stay the way it was but country does,” Bryan sings in the chorus.
The song was penned by Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne and Ross Copperman.
Meanwhile, the deluxe edition of Born Here, Live Here, Die Here is due out on April 9. It will feature 6 new songs along with the 10 original tracks.
