Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing rushed to hospital after allergic reaction to new puppy

Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing has been rushed to hospital after an allergic reaction to his and fiancée Sophie Habboo's new puppy.

Sophie, 28, took to her Instagram stories to share the news, as she revealed that Jamie, 33, is on steroids due to his allergic reaction to their long-haired Dachshund puppy.

She posted a video to Instagram as she played with their new puppy, Bobbie, as she rocked white silky pyjamas and under-eye masks.

Sophie wrote: "Sorry for the MIA. Had the most wonderful Christmas and hope you all did as well."

Explaining Jamie's situation, she added: "Jamie has been in hospital for steroids as it turns out he's allergic to the new pup and his asthma has got out of control.

"So as you can imagine, I've been quite stressed for them both.

"Going to the doctor tomorrow so will keep you updated."

She finished off the update with: "But sending all my love to everyone."

Jamie and Sophie announced the sweet new addition to their family earlier this month, as Jamie took to Instagram to publicly welcome Bobbie to the family.

Wearing a red hat and green jumper, Jamie looked ecstatic in the pictures as he beamed at the camera, held by Sophie, before she joined in on the snap and took a selfie of the three of them.

Jamie also posted a video montage of the new puppy, which had Ed Sheeran's Perfect playing over the top of it. In another heartwarming snap, little Bobbie could be seen curled up in a ball having a nice snooze.

Alongside the snaps, Jamie wrote: "Welcome to the family Little Bobbie.

"I’ve said no to a dog for a long time but finally had to give in to Sophie’s constant nagging. It’s peeing everywhere, pooping all over the place, she doesn’t know her name and ignores me, she sleeps all day and is awake during the night, wants to cuddle Sophie and not me but somehow I still find her pretty damn irresistible…

"'Plus I get to choose her second name which probably was a big mistake, any idea?!"

Jamie has so far remained silent on his hospital dash, following the allergic reaction, with nothing posted on his Instagram.

Meanwhile, the date of Jamie and Sophie's upcoming wedding was supposed to be kept quiet – until Sophie accidentally let it slip live on TV as the couple appeared on Good Morning Britain in August.

Sophie made the error as host Richard Madeley asked: “When are you getting married?” to which she responded: “May 19th —” before gasping at her mistake.

Appearing shocked, Jamie, sat beside his fiancée, said: “I can’t believe you’ve…”

“May, next year,” Sophie confirmed again.
