Madonna’s family ‘prepared for worst’ after singer rushed to ICU
Madonna is thought to be struggling after being hospitalised and placed in intensive care.
The 64-year-old pop icon’s hospital stay was announced last week which confirmed her 40th anniversary tour was being put on hold due to her ill health.
Madonna was found unresponsive and immediately rushed in an ambulance to hospital for treatment. Doctors discovered a serious bacterial infection that caused the star to fall ill.
The Material Girl hitmaker has since left the hospital and is now back home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Although, according to reports from TMZ, she is not recovering “as quickly as she expected”.

Madonna is set to hit the stage for her 40th-anniversary tour in just 10 days time but her team still has not confirmed whether her concert in Vancouver, which kicks off July 15, will still go ahead.
Reports have said that the star was “vomiting uncontrollably” and was “too sick” to leave her bed despite being discharged from hospital and returning to her home in New York.
However, according to Metro.co.uk, a source said that Madonna is “resting at home, feeling better and following doctors’ orders” after her family “feared the worst” when she was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
A source told TMZ that Madonna is still “weak and very tired”.

It is also thought that since the infection she is spending “a significant amount of time in bed”.
But the news outlet added that she is “not waving the white flag” on her tour just yet with the star hopeful to return to the stage.
It is still unclear when Madonna will return to the stage, as the Celebration tour has been postponed, but fans are aware of how hard she was working on perfecting the shows via her various Instagram stories shared earlier this year.
Despite not cancelling her shows, the A-lister is remaining tight-lipped on the future of the tour.
It has been said that she was rehearsing 12 hours a day before falling ill.
A source told People that Madonna was adamant that she “didn’t want to take time away” from rehearsals, which is why she “ignored some symptoms of illness” for “quite a while” leading to her being hospitalised.
