Max George and Maisie Smith have broken their social media silence after being criticised for their fake "pregnancy" announcement.
The loved-up pair are currently holidaying in Abu Dhabi and enjoyed a luxury five course meal, leaving 21 year old Maisie with a “food baby”.
In a snap of Max, 34, looking down at her belly shocked, they teased that they had “exciting news” as Maisie showcased her swollen stomach, to later reveal she’d just had a big meal.
While some found the post funny, others hit out at them for seemingly joking about expecting a baby as many couples struggle to conceive.
One upset person wrote: “Pregnancy is not something to joke about when there are so many people that suffer everyday because they can’t have children.”
Another person commented: “I love Maisie but as someone who can’t have kids this really hits hard. Pregnancy is no joke to people who can’t have kids."
However, ignoring the backlash, Maisie and Max have continued to enjoy their holiday and shared more photos online.
One snap shared by The Wanted singer Max to his Instagram story saw the pair enjoying a large milkshake with lots of cream and toppings as Maisie joked that she’s “never eating again”.
Elsewhere, EastEnders star Maisie posted a video of their romantic evening. Showing Max dancing on the sand, his girlfriend panned the camera round to show several candle-lit tables, perfect for a lovely dinner under the stars.
Maisie also delighted fans with saucy snaps on Instagram in recent days and was labelled the “sexiest woman on earth”.
Maisie shared a fresh-faced selfie as she soaked up the sun, followed by a second photo of her walking along the beach sporting a green bikini.
"That Abu glow," she captioned the photos along with a sunshine emoji, as her followers flocked to compliment her.
"So, so beautiful," one person said, while a second agreed adding: "Should be against the law to be this sexy," with a fire emoji.
A third fan commented: "Sexiest ginger on earth," and a fourth wrote: "Stunning your a natural Beauty Babe".
Max also commented and branded himself “so lucky”.
There’s 13 years between the undeniably smitten couple – something which Max and Maisie have felt the need to defend.
“I don’t notice the age difference and neither do my friends or family,” Maisie told Fabulous earlier this month.
“My mum Julia is the one who reads through all the comments. I got a message from her yesterday, saying: ‘Just ignore them, you two were made for each other’.”
Maisie went on to label the singer as ‘The One’ and shared their future plans together.
