Mandy Moore shares the adorable reasons they named their new son August
New mom Mandy Moore hopped back on Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 24, to share the sweet reasons she and her husband, Taylor Goldmsmith, chose to name their newborn son August. Alongside a photo of a gray baby blanket emblazoned with their little guy’s moniker, Mandy explained: “It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it’s also Taylor’s birth month) and we always loved the name… so it was settled very early on in our book.” She went on to share how the singer-songwriter’s anniversary gift last fall ended up making a perfect baby blanket for their future son, whose name happens to start and end with his mom and dad’s first initials. “Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the ‘A’ (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and ‘T’ (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt,” she explained. “Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day.” Mandy and Taylor announced August’s arrival on Tuesday, telling fans and followers their love for little “Gus” “goes way beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”

Drew Barrymore gushes about her ex-husband’s fiancee
When Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman announced they were calling time on their marriage in 2016, they said in a statement that they didn’t feel the legal change “takes away from us being a family.” Drew, who shares daughters Frankie, 6, and Olive, 8, with Will, proved she meant those words this week when Howard Stern asked on his SiriusXM show how she felt about Will’s recent engagement. “I’m in it with him and his family. I’m happy to say he just got engaged to this wonderful woman named Allie who I am probably president of her fan club,” Drew gushed. “The #NoEvilStepmother is the greatest blessing I could have hoped for. She is just so wonderful,” she said, adding, “I want him to be happy.” Will announced and Alexandra Michler, the director of fashion development at Vogue, announced their engagement last month. Drew, meanwhile, went on to tell Howard she’s started online dating after taking some time to focus on herself. “I do now know what I am looking for,” she said. “What I’m not looking for is equally as important. So [dating is] fun.” What she’s not looking for, she added, is someone who’s “trying to change” her. “I think I’m at the best place I’ve ever been and it took me a long time to get here,” Drew said. “Life is messy, man, and I’m finally, like, really proud of who I am. That feels good.”

Travis Scott opens up about how Stormi inspires his work
Travis Scott started recording his hit album “Astroworld” back in 2016, two years before he and his on-off partner Kylie Jenner welcomed their first child together. As the Houston native works on a follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2018 release in 2021, his 3-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster — and his new role as a parent — is helping to shape his new music. “Fatherhood influences my job. It has a huge impact,” Travis tells “Sin City” director Robert Rodriguez in a new interview for i-D magazine. “It’s a major inspiration … Especially Storm, she’s just acting like a kid. She’s always interested, she catches on and learns things and adapts to things so fast,” the rapper says proudly. “Kids show you a different outlook on life, how they view things, the type of pressures they have and what makes them happy, what makes them move,” he continues. “Like, when she watches certain movies or listen to certain songs. Or she watches my concerts on YouTube and she realizes she’s there, she’s ready to see now. I realized my job is way more important than what I thought because of her. More responsibility, you know? You’ve got to use that properly.” When Robert, who also has kids, chimes in to say children “become your biggest collaborators” when you’re an artist, Travis couldn’t agree more. “Yeah, man. Fatherhood just be like, I don’t live for myself anymore,” he says. “I was already going so hard for the fans and now, oh man, Stormi, it’s like … I love that.” Travis put his Astroworld festival on hold in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic, but says he hopes to bring it back in November. Though his album has no release date yet, he promises, it’s “coming soon.”

Zendaya nixes gender assumptions in Vanity Fair’s ‘Proust Questionnaire’
If you ask Zendaya, it’s time to update the queries included in the “Proust Questionnaire,” a set of questions commonly asked as part of a Victorian-era salon game that interviewers still use today. The “Euphoria” star recently sat down with Vanity Fair for an installment ofits long-running “Proust Questionnaire” series with celebs. When she was asked Question 12 — “what is the quality you most like in a man” — the 24-year-old Emmy winner replied by rephrasing the question. “I most like in a person, how about that?” she offered before answering her own version. “It’s such a big question,” she began. “What is the quality I most like in someone? I would say, ‘kindness’ is kind of not the best way to describe it, but some people are just good people and you can just feel it. And I don’t know how to explain that, but there’s this little spark they have, or this little special thing that they have, that just you feel safe and happy around them. I don’t know what that is, but some people have it and it’s special.” Asked, “What is the quality you most like in a woman?” Zendaya replied, “Well, I guess that’s the same answer.”
Prosecutors drop DWI charges against Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen is off the hook on DWI and reckless driving charges after prosecutors in New Jersey agreed The Boss’ blood alcohol levelshowed he was well within the legal limit when he was arrested in a state park on Nov. 14. In a virtual court appearance on Wednesday, Feb. 24, Bruce, did, however, plead guilty to drinking with fans in the park, where alcohol is prohibited, according to CNN. “I had two small shots of tequila,” the singer said of the incident, which took place at Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook. After the defense noted Bruce has an almost completely clean driver’s record and no criminal background, the judge ordered the singer to pay a $500 fine, along with $40 in court fees. Bruce, whose blood alcohol level was 0.02 (the legal limit is 0.08 in New Jersey) drank the tequila with fans who’d stopped him for a photo when they spotted him riding by on his motorcycle.
Kim Kardashian, Kanye West reportedly have different ideas about ‘how their kids should be raised’
Like a lot of former couples, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West don’t always see eye to eye when it comes to parenting or their personal goals. That’s according to a People source who told the outlet this week that despite their post-divorce filing agreement to share legal and physical custody of their four children, Kim and Kanye “have a different vision of the world and how their kids should be raised.” The insider added that “Kim will always support Kanye,” without elaborating much on where their approach to parenting diverges, other than to note that “what they want in life and for their kids doesn’t always match.” Multiple outlets reported last year that Kanye’s presidential bid, his anti-abortion sentiments and his on-off Donald Trump fandom, didn’t sit well with Kim. After staying mostly quiet about those and other controversies her husband sparked throughout much of 2020, Kim filed for divorce last week.
Colin Jost jokes Michael Che’s wedding gift has him and Scarlett Johansson ‘concerned’ for their own ‘well-being’
It seems Michael Che failed to ruin his “Weekend Update” co-star Colin Jost’s wedding to Scarlet Johansson last fall — which has only left Colin and Scarlett in a state of vague terror. Ahead of the couple’s October ceremony, Michael quipped to Ellen DeGeneres on her show that he “would love to go and just disrupt everything,” joking, “I think they’ll let me in because they feel like they have to … and I think that’s going to be a big mistake.” So naturally, when Colin appeared on “Ellen” on Wednesday, Feb. 24, Ellen DeGeneres wanted the dirt on what Michael did. Turns out, he did nothing … yet. “The whole time I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and wondering what his long con was going to be,” Colin said of his “SNL” co-star, who revels in throwing shade his way on the show. “The other day, he just kinda came up to me in the hallway and was like, ‘Hey, I got you something,'” Colin continued (via UsWeekly). “And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ And he’s like, ‘Wedding present. I’ll have to bring it by sometime.’ I’m like, ‘Oh God.’ So I’m waiting to find out what this thing is, but we’re both pretty concerned for our well-being.” In the meantime, Colin said he suspects that because the wedding gift will double as a housewarming present, he’s pretty sure it will “take up a lot of space” in the couple’s house. “It’s probably going to be haunting in some way,” he mused.
Tiger Woods could face serious complications from leg injuries after surgery
Following a car crash that nearly killed him on Tuesday, Feb. 23, Tiger Woods continued to recover from surgery at Harbor-U.C.L.A. Medical Center in Los Angeles Wednesday. On Tuesday night, the hospital’s chief medical officer shared an update on the golf star’s condition on his Twitter account, telling fans he was awake and responsive after the operation, during which doctors “inserted a rod into his shin and screws and pins into his foot and ankle,” according to the New York Times. The outlet reported that doctors familiar with such injuries, which are relatively common in bad car crashes, can cause serious complications that could make it unlikely Tiger will play golf again. The single-car accident reportedly took place when Tiger’s SUV flipped and rolled over multiple times while falling down a hill off the side of a road in Los Angeles.

It’s a boy! The new addition to the couple’s family is Kat’s first child — she’s also stepmom to David’s five daughters from previous relationships — and David’s first son. The proud parents tied the knot in 2019.
Jon Hamm, Tina Fey to reunite for John Slattery-directed dark comedy
Back in 2009, Jon Hamm appeared in a few episodes of “30 Rock” as Drew Baird, the super-hot neighbor turned (hilariously doomed) love interest of Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon. They apparently hit it off, because Jon returned to play two characters on “30 Rock” before Tina cast him as a a cult leader in “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” According to Deadline, Tina and Jon are set to rekindle their onscreen chemistry in a new dark comedy directed by John Slattery, who’s reportedly enlisted his fellow “Mad Men” alum for the lead role in “Mandy Moore(s).” Alas, it has nothing to do with that Mandy Moore … The feature film is set in “a dusty desert town” where a police chief “is suddenly faced with the back-to-back murders of two women with the same name,” Deadline reports. Tina, who co-starred with John in an episode of “Modern Love,” is rumored to be playing the female lead, according to the Daily Mail.
