Marilyse Corrigan, 37, appeared joyful and relaxed as she posed from her hospital bed this week, with an accompanying caption that read: “We did it!” The Married At First Sight UK 2021 star continued: “I look far better than I feel for sure.
Need my bed & lots of rest now. My job is now done

“Thank you for all the messages of support.
“It has honestly helped get me through the last few days. Hearing so many stories of donations, I have read every message, and it has been so comforting to read.
“I’ve just been to see Shaun, he is doing well, he actually looks better than I do! Which is to be expected.
“Home time. Need my bed & lots of rest now. My job is now done.”
On Tuesday, the MAFS star had taken part in a donation scheme that saw her organ passed over to an unidentified woman in exchange for a healthy matching kidney for Shaun, who suffers from polycystic kidney disease.
If the disease is left untreated, numerous cysts can begin to grow in a matter of weeks, subsequently reducing kidney function before leading to kidney failure.
Marilyse had initially hoped to donate her kidney directly to her former flame, but after being informed that she was no match, she opted to take part in the donation scheme instead in a bid to save her ex’s life.
The TV personality, who shares her two sons, Josh, 13, and Callum, 15, with Shaun, previously revealed that her children were very concerned about their father’s health following his diagnosis in 2019.
She told OK! Magazine: “They were very upset because they don’t understand it.
“And we had to explain to them what it meant and they had to witness when they were staying with their dad and he’d be on the [dialysis] machine every night.”
She certainly didn’t want her children growing up without their dad in their lives, and though they are no longer together, Marilyse didn’t hesitate to find alternative ways in which she could help save Shaun’s life.
Days before the procedure, the reality star explained to fans on Instagram that she was gearing up to donate her kidney to her ex, which she described as “a special day for my family”.
“2 years ago I decided to put myself forward and volunteer without my ex knowing,” she added.
“After undergoing lots of hospital trips for tests, scans etc, I was told I could help him! But not directly. So that’s where a kidney sharing scheme happens.”
“I know that by helping him, it is the right thing for me to do for everyone.”
The Yorkshire native starred in this year’s Married At First Sight where she met (and married) Franky Spencer, 47.
