The pair, who starred in season 14 of ‘Married at First Sight’, announce their split on their social media accounts a month after Steve got candid about the struggle that they faced while trying to navigate their marriage.
AceShowbiz -Things between Noi Phommasak and Steve Moy are over now. The pair, who starred in season 14 of “Married at First Sight“, called it quits with them announcing their split on their individual social media accounts on Sunday, July 10.
Noi opted to take to her Instagram account to celebrate the divorce. Alongside a happy picture of her on a surfboard while wearing a bikini, the 33-year-old wrote in the caption, “Divorce feels good.”
Meanwhile, on her Instagram Story, the talent acquisition coordinator said, “Take back your narrative (even when your voice shakes).” Additionally, she seemingly referred to her split from Steve through multiple song choices that played on her Story, including Kanye West‘s 2021 single “Hurricane” featuring The Weeknd and Lil Baby as well as Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran‘s 2022 hit “Bam Bam”.
As for Steve, he appeared to be more somber about the split. He told his followers in a lengthy Instagram post that he “was not expecting this announcement to happen today, but I am prepared to handle it.”
“When I said yes on decision day, I knew that our relationship was far from perfect, but I held the belief that with enough time, effort and understanding, we could overcome the challenges we faced, and build a healthy, functioning relationship,” the 38-year-old former sales engineer wrote. “Over time I lost hope that this could happen and believe we are incompatible in ways that attempts at compromise can’t seem to fix or overcome.”
While he admitted that they had “been apart for a while now,” Steve shared that a part of him was “still holding out for the potential for true change” in their relationship. However, “this surprise announcement is a signal that it’s definitely time to let go.”
Despite the split, Steve noted that he has nothing but love for his former spouse. “Noi, I’ll always love you. I so wish we were a better fit,” he said. “I wish we could meet each other’s needs without feeling like we have to compromise ourselves to a point beyond what we consider acceptable. I wish that our willingness to be flexible to each other matched the chemistry we were lucky to have.”
In his post, Steve also shared that he’s “doing my best to stay positive.” He stressed, “I’ve given so much of myself to this marriage, the process and this experience as a whole. I don’t regret anything I’ve given, but it’s time that we start doing what’s best for ourselves.”
Prior to this, Steve opened up about the struggle that he and Noi faced while trying to navigate their marriage. He said at the time, “We have been choosing not to share some things while we work through, and figure things out, while at the same time recognizing that it’s expected for some people to want to know more.”
