During last night’s highly anticipated sit-down interview between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey, Meghan offered a glimpse into her maternity style at home in Montecito, California.
Though the conversation between the royal couple and the media mogul took place at a mutual friend’s home, Winfrey did receive a private tour of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s backyard the day after their initial conversation. Cameras followed the Sussexes and Winfrey as Meghan showed off their personal hen house (adorably called Archie’s Chick Inn) while they chatted about how the couple are adjusting to their new lives in California.
During the prime-time special, Meghan showed off a much more casual ensemble compared to the sweeping Armani caftan dress she wore during the actual interview. Looking chic yet relaxed, the duchess wore an oversized white button-down, an olive-green parka-style jacket, denim jeans, and Wellie boots, and styled her hair in long and flowing lush waves.
Meghan, who is now expecting her second child, shared during their time outside that she and Harry were relishing a slower, simpler pace of life since relocating to California last year.
“I think just being able to live authentically [has been the most important],” said Meghan, referencing her and Harry’s home and their calmer lifestyle. “This kind of stuff is so basic, but it’s really fulfilling and about getting back to basics.”
Later in the interview, Harry shared how even though we’re still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, he’s grateful for having spent so much time at home with their young son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
“This year has been crazy for everybody,” he said, “but to have outdoor space where I can go for walks with Archie, and we can go for walks as a family and with the dogs and go on hikes or go to the beach, which is so close, all of these things are …
“The highlight for me is sticking him on the back of the bicycle in his little baby seat and taking him on these bike rides, which is something I was never able to do when I was young.”
