Meghan Markle is highly unlikely to attend another official Palace after deciding to skip King Charles III's coronation in London next month, a royal author has claimed.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace earlier this week, it was confirmed that Prince Harry would be present at his 74 year old father's crowning ceremony alone, with his wife, 41, staying at home in California with their two children.
"Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May," it read. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
Following the news, Rob Jobson, author of the upcoming book Our King: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, has predicted that the Duchess of Sussex will be unlikely to attend another event, stating: "It is good news that Harry has accepted the invite and will be there to support his father."
"It is the most pragmatic move in a difficult situation, and Harry has got it right. He would deeply regret it if he didn't attend the biggest day of his father's life."
He added: "But the fact his wife is not attending means it is now highly unlikely we will ever see her attend an official or Palace event again — apart from maybe the King's funeral."
Shortly after the statement by Buckingham Palace was released, royal expert and friend of the Sussexes, Omid Scobie, revealed why Meghan would not be attending the coronation of her father-in-law King Charles.
He took to Twitter to confirm the theory that many fans had of Meghan deciding to remain in Santa Barbara for her son Prince Archie's birthday. Omid tweeted: "I understand that Archie's fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple's decision.
"Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey."
The confirmation of the Prince's attendance at the historic event comes after weeks of speculation as the whether he and Meghan would be in attendance or not.
While many have criticised Meghan for not attending the coronation, Loose Women star Denise Welch came to her defence.
Quote-tweeting a tweet made by right-wing channel GB News host Dan Wootton, Denise wrote: "Why on earth would she want to come here with a press that abuses her EVERY SINGLE DAY???? And she doesn't get booed.
"The crowds love her!!! And those who don't??? If only they knew eh Dan."
