Michelle Keegan shows support for husband Mark Wright as he makes professional football debut

Michelle Keegan has thrown her support behind husband Mark Wright as he made his professional football debut for Crawley FC over the weekend.

The television star turned footballer, who gave an update on his dad's health, took to Instagram to share his thoughts after the game.

Alongside a series of pictures of himself on the pitch, he wrote: "A day I will never forget!!

"Today at 33, after much hard work and hours of extra training to make it possible, even if it was just for a few minutes, I made my professional debut against the giants Leeds United.

"To make it even more special my brother and best pal also made his debut for @official#crawleytownfc today, to do this with him will be a moment our whole family will cherish forever.

The presenter continued: "However most importantly, the boys that started the game were absolutely incredible, they beat a very strong Leeds United team 3-0 and every single one of them were sensational.

"I'm very proud to call myself a crawley player. Thank you for all your support," he concluded.

Mark's wife Michelle, 33, was one of the first to comment on the post and rushed to show her support for her other half.

She gushed: "What a day," alongside a raised hands emoji and a red love heart emoji.

The rest of Mark's family commented, with his brother Josh Wright writing: "Thoroughly deserved through hard work and determination.

"Can't wait for the rest of the journey. Love ya bro x."

Cousin Elliott Wright said: "So proud, the memories of us as kids playing in the garden, too see both of you playing a professional game together, makes you realise, cherish every moment in life, it's too short…

"Playing as kids pretending to be your inspirations… to actually make it on the same field together.. special X and what a win that was.. well done!!"

Proud mum Carol expressed: "Well done my boys so proud and happy to be your mumma x x."

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday, Mark, who landed a new reality show, said of his debut: "It was an incredible moment, obviously I only got a few minutes.

"But just to be a part of that squad, and that team that I've been playing with for three months.

"You've got that togetherness straight away so to see the boys perform like that was sensational."
