Molly-Mae Hague complained of feeling ‘unsafe’ in flat before burglary

Molly-Mae Hague spoke of feeling ‘unsafe’ in the Manchester flat she shares with boyfriend Tommy Fury, months before being targeted by burglars.

The Love Island stars, both 22, were the victims of a break-in at their home last week, when they were in London for the evening to celebrate the influencer’s Beauty Works collaboration.

According to reports, a gang got away with £800,000 worth of stuff before escaping, leaving the couple ‘shaken’ and not wanting to return.

Molly-Mae previously voiced her fears of being alone in the property without the boxer in a YouTube video filmed just months before the ordeal.

Speaking to fans, she explained that she was shelling out for security to ensure she is protected at all times, after ‘a few incidents’.

‘I do have to pay a lot of money a month for an extremely high security for the apartment. We had a few incidents,’ she said. ‘I don’t feel safe anywhere anymore, I didn’t feel safe in our last apartment.

‘I don’t really feel safe anywhere anymore because I feel like no matter how much you try to and keep your life private, when you’re in the public eye your life is never private.’

The model also detailed the unsettling moment a stranger turned up at their door after driving around to try and find their flat.

‘I’ve basically redone the whole security plan for the next month so I basically have permanent security car sat outside the front of the apartment so I know I’m 100% safe,’ she added.

‘When Tommy’s here it’s one thing, but when I’m here by myself I just want that reassurance that I’m 100% safe.

‘It’s just really hard, I’m sure you wouldn’t like it if people knew where you guys lived and I never want to sound like I’m complaining.’

Molly-Mae’s video has re-emerged after reports that her apartment was broken into on October 21, as the ITV2 stars partied in London.

The gang are thought to have smashed through windows and doors to gain access to the flat and stole ‘approximately £800k worth’ of belongings, leaving the couple with nothing other than what was already in their suitcases from the event.

‘They will never return back to their apartment again unfortunately they feel they have been targeted and don’t feel safe there anymore. They really loved living there, it’s a shame they have been forced out of their home,’ an insider claimed to the MailOnline.

‘It seems to be an experienced gang who know what they’re doing as they have had machinery and waited for Molly and Tommy to be away.’

‘Molly is doing well considering the circumstances. It has been a very distressing time, but she is trying to be as positive as possible,’ a rep for the Pretty Little Thing creative director told the publication.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson added: ‘On Friday 22 October 2021 police received a report of a burglary at a property in the Hale Barns area.

‘During the burglary a number of items were taken, including jewellery. Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.’
