The Grand Tour hosts are often finding themselves in tricky situations and it seems it was no different in the latest television special. Richard Hammond found himself the recipient of some road rage, as he opened up to Express.co.uk and other media about the incident.
The latest special for The Grand Tour sees the trio of presenters examining French cars and culture.
Richard, James May and Jeremy Clarkson look at what influences drivers across the channel, as well as some notorious French cars.
However, at one point Richard found himself in a tricky situation after he blocked a roundabout.
He admitted he was “doing the roundabout the French way to see if it works”.
A man was then seen next to his window yelling: “I don’t care! Look, we’re queued up here.
“Move it! Move the f***ing car.”
Richard then calmly quipped back: “See this is what happens.”
James then added: “Hammond’s being beaten up by the locals!”
Speaking ahead of the episode launching today, Richard admitted he could understand why he’d been yelled at.
The presenter was quizzed on if he’s used to road rage directed at him.
The star explained: “Not really.
“I think that’s all road rage but I can understand if you’re in a rush!”
Thankfully, Richard went on to add how he luckily hasn’t been on the receiving end much.
“But I don’t get it generally,” he continued. “I’m not generally harangued in the street.
“Which I’m quite glad about!”
Elsewhere, the presenter has also opened up about what it’s like to work with his co-stars.
He admitted that sometimes he’s even able to tell what they’re about to say next, having worked with them for such a long time.
Richard explained: “There’s always a moment, a first moment on any of these trips, when the cameras are set up, directors call to action, and it’s like we’re stepping back into a world that’s been there all the time.
“But we’ve not been away from it.
“It just immediately picks up because we’ve worked together in so many different circumstances.
“And we’ve done live shows together and we spent a lot of time together.”
“You kind of know what each other is going to say.
“I know if something happens and I throw in a line and kind of can anticipate where they’ll go with it, and vice versa.
“It’s great because it means it’s a strength and we can work together more easily.”
Carnage A Trois is released today on Amazon Prime Video.
