Naga Munchetty and her co-star Dan Walker are known for hosting the news show BBC Breakfast. However, as the pair take on a new role, Naga has addressed their golfing rivalry.
Yesterday it was announced how Naga and Dan will be getting involved in a golf tournament.
The broadcasters have been drafted in to take part in The Festival of Golf with BMW.
They’ll be competing in the tournament alongside Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton Du Beke and Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing.
This was confirmed by the BMW PGA Championship in a tweet: “From the ballroom to the course.
“#Strictly stars past and present confirmed for this year’s #BMWPGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am.”
Following the announcement, some followers were left wondering if she and Dan were big golfing rivals.
One user penned to Naga: “Have you beaten mr Walker at golf ?” (sic)
The broadcaster then admitted: “We’ve actually never managed to play a round together – he’d have to give me lots of shots!”
However, many fans shared their excitement to see them playing together.
A user wrote: “Hmm, I think it would be safe to put a tenner on Naga to beat Dan at this Golf match.”
Another added: “I assume you will be giving Dan a run for his money.”
“You look every bit the pro in that Dan,” replied a third.
This isn’t the first time Naga and Dan have teased having a golfing match up.
Earlier this year, Good Morning Britain star Martin Lewis challenged them to a game of golf.
This came when Martin took on the early morning hosting role before Dan asked him how he’d found it.
Writing back in July, Dan said: “Glad you enjoyed it, Martin. How did your brain/body cope?”
Martin wrote back: “I really enjoyed it. Thanks for asking. But… back knotted due to lack of sleep.
“It’s quite tough to do, then to go to work at MSE afterwards. You are made of sterner stuff than me.
“PS Ben [Shephard] & I should take you and Naga on at golf (handicaps in play) as a ‘grudge match’.”
Dan and Naga admitted they were keen on the match-up between the morning shows.
Dan agreed: “Deal. Come on @TVNaga01… let’s get it sorted”.
While Naga penned back: “Always up for a challenge”.
