Naya Rivera's birthday has been honoured by her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey as he paid a loving tribute to her.
The Glee star, who played Santana Lopez in the series, tragically died in July 2020 having drowned in Lake Piru in Southern California after using her last bit of energy to save her son Josey, five, who was found alone on a rented boat.
Actor Ryan, who was married to the star between 2014 and 2018 before calling it quits, has now taken to his Instagram feed to share a sweet black and white photo of them together with their little boy.

The 37 year old can be seen wearing a vest top in the snap as he smiles alongside the Step Up star, who is also seen wearing a vest top with her long hair up in a bun as she holds their son in her arms.
In the caption, Ryan, who recently "filed a wrongful death lawsuit" on behalf of his son, wrote: "Just as surreal as it is real that you're gone. If that makes sense, but none of this still makes any sense…34..
"I could just hear you saying "Ah, I'm old AF now!" Ha…Rest easy old lady…" [sic] followed by two red heart emojis, a white heart emoji, black heart emoji and two star emojis.

Celebrity friends were quick to comment as Naya's Glee co-star and friend Heather Morris wrote: "Love you both so much".
Heather, who played Brittany S. Pierce on Glee, also took to her own Instagram feed to post a black and white snap of herself and Naya with their palms together, which she captioned: "Happy Birthday my angel. I can’t write a sappy monologue because it’s just too hard…but I love you and I can’t describe how much I miss you."
Chris Colfer, who portrayed the character of Kurt Hummel on the popular singing show, also shared a snap of them while starring on Glee, which he captioned: "Happy birthday, babe. Miss you." with a red heart emoji.

While Amber Riley, who played Mercedes Jones on the Fox comedy series, posted a photo of herself singing for Naya, which she captioned: "A little update Naya, earth is REALLY ghetto now!!! Still, I miss you so very much and I wish you were here. There hasn’t been a day where you don’t cross my mind, and when you do, I take a moment of silence to remember all the beautiful moments we got to spend together. [sic]
"I’m listening to Amy Winehouse, sippin wine, and eating a very fancy charcuterie in your honor today (don’t worry, I’m checking on mom). HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY ANGEL". [sic]

Naya was laid to rest at Hollywood’s Forest Lawn cemetery, where late stars including Britney Murphy, Paul Walker, Carrie Fisher and rapper Nipsey Hussle are also interred.
The TV star's remains were found after more than 100 people, including multiple dive teams and two helicopters, were sent out to look for her.
Her death certificate stated that an autopsy took place and her death was accidental, with no underlying causes or ailment.
