Jason Manford, 40, has opened up about a “surreal” moment as he headed into surgery. The stand-up comedian shared a snap from his hospital bed as fans on social media sent him their well-wishes.
Posting on his Twitter earlier today, Jason shared the surprising health update.
He posted a selfie in his hospital room with him on his gameshow Unbeatable in the background.
In view of his 377,000 followers, he penned: “Surreal moment while I’m waiting for my ankles operation!
“Glad there’s some #Unbeatable entertainment on @BBCOne keeping me company.”
Jason also revealed a bit more about what he’s getting done and what his recovery might look like.
This came after one of his fans asked if he would be able to walk after.
The comedian replied: “No walking for a little bit, don’t think I’ll make SoccerAid this year!”
He also shared a humorous picture of how the doctors had labelled his ankles for the operation.
This featured them having arrows drawn on his legs and feet pointing to his ankles.
Jason quipped: “Always a worry when they’ve gotta use a sharpie so they know which one to do!
“I’m having both. I almost asked him to write ‘not these’ on my knees.”
Following his health update, the stand-up was inundated with get well soon wishes from his followers.
One penned: “Hope all goes well and wishing you a speedy recovery.”
“I hope your operation goes OK x,” added a second fan.
A third wrote: “Good luck hope all goes well.”
While a fourth follower replied: “Great entertainment and good luck with the operation. Xx.”
Elsewhere, Jason was recently a guest on Dave Berry’s Dadpod podcast where he opened up about parenting.
This included how he was left furious at his daughter after her comments about their cleaner.
He said: “This is something I would never usually admit to, but we’ve got a cleaner, you know, comes in and cleans the house, and she’s brilliant.
“We’ve had her for years, and this was probably the worst moment of my parenting career.
“So, Suzanne comes in all the time… And my daughter had not tidied her bedroom and I come upstairs, she’s about seven at the time, and I said, ‘What’s going on? Why’s your bedroom such a mess?’
“She was like, ‘What do you mean?’ I said, ‘Make your bed’. She said, ‘I don’t want to’.
“I said, ‘Well if you’re not gonna make it, who’s gonna make it?’ And she said, ‘Suzanne, the cleaner’, and I went absolutely nuts.”
