Olivia Wilde sparkles in sheer gown at star-studded Academy Museum Gala in LA

Olivia Wilde rocked a sparkling sheer gown as she joined the stars attending the Academy Museum Gala in LA.

The Don’t Worry Darling director joined celebs including Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, and George Clooney and Julia Roberts at the swanky event to celebrate those who have made exceptional contributions to cinema from actors to directors and producers.

Olivia posed on the red carpet, donning a glamorous silver gown with a fluffy pink trim, and wearing her long blonde hair down.

Smiling at the cameras, she looked to be having a blast.

Also attending the glitzy event were stars including Hailey Bieber, Tilda Swinton, and Rebel Wilson.

Julia Roberts was honoured with the icon award in recognition of her stellar Hollywood career, while 12 Years A Slave director Sir Steve McQueen was honoured with the vantage award while Swinton received the visionary award and Miky Lee the pillar award.

Jacqueline Stewart, Director and President of the Academy Museum said: ‘Over the course of her expansive and renowned career, Julia has embodied iconic characters and memorable roles.

‘We are thrilled to be honouring her continued excellence in the industry and contribution to the arts. We are deeply grateful to Julia, Miky, Steve, and Tilda, to Rolex, and to our co-chairs and host committee for making our second annual Gala an evening to remember.’

Olivia’s outing comes after the release of her film Don’t Worry Darling, starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles.

The filmmaker, who also previously directed the film Booksmart, recently hit out at ‘untruths’ around the movie, after it was rumoured that she and leading actress Florence were embroiled in a feud.

Speaking to Elle Magazine as part of their Women in Hollywood series, the mom-of-two fumed: ‘This film is trying to ask big questions, but [it’s] “Let’s just focus on this sideshow over here”.

‘Having been a known figure for a while…makes me well-equipped to have a Teflon exterior. But it also means that you’re under a different kind of microscope. It’s brought my attention to the media and how it pits women against one another.

‘It is shocking to see so many untruths about yourself traded as fact.’

Olivia also had nothing but praise for Florence after the release of the film.
