Paris Fury says husband Tyson has only been home for two weeks in last six months

Paris Fury has revealed that husband and heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, has only spent two weeks at home in the past six months.

Appearing on This Morning on Tuesday, 26 October, the 31-year-old spoke to hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about her fighter husband spending so much time away due to work commitments.

“We worked out that in the last six months, he’s been at home for two weeks out of five or six months and it was really shocking,” she said.

“We’ve spent time together abroad, but not at home.”

Most recently, the married couple were able to celebrate in Vegas after Tyson’s big win against professional boxer Deontay Wilder.

“We partied in Vegas – which as parents, we don’t get to do a lot,” she said.

“Then we came home and then we do have a sort of lull side when Tyson comes back and he does sort of tend to dip a little, but we’ve managed to maintain it.”

Paris was on the show to promote her new book, Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of life, which discusses dealing with mental health – which Tyson has been open about in the past – and the impact this has had on her family.

During her appearance, she let hosts Philip and Holly know how Tyson has been coping since returning home.

“He’s a little bit inward but nothing major,” she explained.

“He copes with it a lot better than the time when he fought Klitschko. It was that amazing high but then the terrible lows. Now he knows how to manage it.

“I think it’s the same with after every fight. Tyson is still ongoing with mental health issues but he’s got it under control which I think is what most people find with their situations, I think that’s what they do.”

When asked about her decision to talk about these personal issues in her book, Paris replied: “I’ve been asked hundreds of times, literally by people on the streets, people on social media, asking me ‘how do you cope? How do you manage?’

“I thought if I could give everybody the answers to what I did – I can’t give them the answers to what’s right or wrong – but what I managed to get through and how we coped and how we got to the happy ending in the end, then I’m going to give it.

“I put it all in the book and I wanted to give everything as well, like just being a parent, a mother, just the crazy life we live as well. I hope that it can help some people.”

After giving birth to her sixth child, daughter Athena, 11 weeks ago, the baby girl had to spend two weeks in intensive care after health complications, causing Holly to ask Paris who has been looking out for her mental health.

“Tyson when I let him. I’ve got great family and friends, it’s a network,” Paris said.

“I try my hardest to be strong for my family and for my husband. I’ve just been brought up as a strong woman so if I can, I try keep everything afloat.”
