People Are Looking for an Apology From Justin Timberlake

A Justin Timberlake reckoning is upon us following the release of the new documentary, Framing Britney Spears, which rehashed the media misogyny that followed Spears and Timberlake's 2002 split. Obviously, this isn't news — or it was … in 2002 — but treating women, their bodies, and their personal lives with respect was far from the norm at the time (and still, to be honest) and thus public slut-shaming proliferated without the blink of an eye.

Anyway, it only took two decades, but Timberlake is finally receiving backlash for his treatment of Spears, and also a bunch of other people: Janet Jackson, Jessica Biel, Jesse Williams, Rihanna's mom, Prince, Jessica Simpson, victims of sexual violence, SZA, etc.

You can't come for Britney and not expect to be dragged for it 20 years later (?), I guess …

Timberlake hasn't spoken out since the release, and his last post on social is a video of him and Tom Brady. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
