Peter Andre has revealed that his daughter Amelia has been struck with scarlet fever.
Father to sons Junior, 17, and Theodore, six, and daughters Princess, 15, and Amelia, eight, the 49 year old revealed to The Mirror how the family has been hit with illness recently.
He said: "We've been struck down by all sorts of things. It started with Bista, she had a 24-hour bug that she passed to me – that was very nice of her!
"And then I got over the 24-hour bug after, obviously, 24 hours but then she then developed tonsillitis and then Theo got tonsillitis and he's still on antibiotics. And now, Millie's got scarlet fever and so she's got the rash all over and it's like oh, no."
Peter, who recently said he won't be be forcing religious views on his children, went on to explain: "So it's a bit of a tough situation for a lot of families going through that because, of course, there's a lot of the Strep A that's causing a lot of problems. So a lot of parents are worried."
Peter added he feels lucky that wife Emily, 33, is a doctor.
According to the NHS, scarlet fever is a contagious infection that mostly affects young children. It's easily treated with antibiotics.
Just last week, the former I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmate opened up about the pleasure of having a doctor in his immediate family.
"It’s been very worrying as a parent to see the increasing number of children dying from Strep A. It’s horrific for any parent to have to go through that," noted Peter.
"It’s been comforting to hear reports from doctors saying that it is still very, very rare that a child will die, but any child’s death is a complete tragedy. I think we just have to keep an eye on our children and be very vigilant about the symptoms such as a rash and fever.
"On another note, it is very helpful living with a doctor, but there are downsides, too. The good thing is that you know when anything serious happens she’ll know what to do, but the flip side is that you can’t be a hypochondriac because if you complain the answer is: 'You’ll be fine, get on with it!'
“But that tough love has helped me quite a bit with my anxiety in the past," he admitted.
"Sometimes when I’ve felt really anxious Emily knows exactly what to say and she’s helped me rationalise and understand things."
