Peter Andre has warned of Instagram “scammers” targeting his fans, urging his followers to be vigilant if they receive messages from people claiming to be him.
Writing in his weekly new magazine column, the singer tells how he was left horrified after discovering fake accounts had been asking people for their bank details. He also opens up about singing at David Schwimmer's wedding – despite never watching Friends. Sign up – for free! – to see what he has to say.

Beware of scammers
We started a family Instagram account recently and in no time four fake accounts were set up with almost exactly the same name and the same pictures. They started asking the followers for their bank details and saying they had won money. I want to stress that unless you see me personally following the account, it’s not real.
These scammers should be ashamed of themselves and I’m really sorry if anyone has been affected.
But in better news, we now have over 100,000 subscribers to our YouTube channel The Andres. Thank you! The other day a seven-year-old girl came up to me and said, “Are you Peter Andre from The Andres?” When I said yes, she said, “I’m a subscriber.” It was so cute. While we were filming one of our recent videos, we had a bit of a disaster when my gym flooded after the boiler exploded. We didn’t have any water for nearly 48 hours. There’s still some flooding, so I’m waiting until it’s gone to assess the damage to the gym.
My little showman
Theo is obsessed with The Greatest Showman! He’s been practising the trick where you lift the hat up with your leg and catch it on your head, and he’s been getting so good at it. He loves dancing and singing, but whenever he knows someone is watching him he goes all shy.
I said to Emily, “Imagine if it’s Millie or Theo who actually end up being on the stage when they’re older!” You never know what they’re going to do and that’s kind of exciting, but we will encourage them no matter what it is.
I’ll be there for your wedding
I know everyone is really excited about the Friends reunion, but I’ve actually never watched a single episode! Bizarrely, I did sing at David Schwimmer’s wedding in 2010, though. I got a call saying he wanted to meet me and I thought it was a wind-up. I went to a London hotel to meet him and we started talking and he said to me, “I’d love you to sing at our wedding.” And so I did!
It was definitely strange seeing Thandiwe Newton and David Walliams in the same room, singing along to a song I never even knew they knew. It was wonderful. I actually have a photo of myself, David and his then-wife Zoë Buckman on my mantelpiece.

We’ll miss you Zoe
I was sad to see Zoe Ball has quit presenting Strictly’s It Takes Two. I don’t think it will be the same without her because she was so good at it. I loved appearing on the show with her, but I guess when you’ve done something for 10 years you might want a change, and everyone deserves a break. I wish Zoe nothing but the best – I’m sure whatever she does she’ll knock them dead!
Travel chaos
I’m sure I’m not the only one who sees so much confusion over travelling to countries on the amber list. I think that the Government should have been clearer because one minister said you could go and visit friends but then Boris Johnson said you shouldn’t be travelling to those countries.
Myself and Emily love travelling just the two of us, but equally we are worried about going away during the pandemic without the kids in case we get stranded. So if we do go anywhere, it will be as a family during the summer holidays.
