Phillip Schofield, 59, has issued an apology after revealing he will not be able to make it to Monday’s instalment of This Morning once again. The presenter took to Instagram this morning to share a photograph of his latest positive lateral flow test.

Along with the news, Phillip apologised to his co-presenter Holly Willoughby, 40, and the daytime show’s team.

In view of his three million followers, he typed: “This really is the day that keeps on giving.

“Sorry @thismorning @hollywilloughby,” Phillip added, alongside two moody emojis.

Fortunately, Phillip saw one silver lining in his positive Covid tests, as he was able to discover a leak in his ceiling this morning due to being stuck at home.

He shared on Instagram a video of the leak dripping onto his wooden floorboards.

Phillip wrote over the video: “Life is full of small consolations.. if I hadn’t tested positive and had gone to @dancingonice the house would be flooded.”

He also showed water dripping from a spotlight, asking followers to “remind me not to turn on that light”.

Phillip then shared a snap to his Story featuring his ceiling with two huge holes carved out of it.

A hanging lightbulb could also be seen from the exposed attic.

Alongside a crying with laughter emoji, Phillip quipped: “Surprisingly I’m very calm.”

Due to his Covid isolation, Phillip will also be absent from Dancing On Ice today.

Stephen Mulhern will be temporarily replacing him alongside his former Ministry of Mayhem co-star Holly.
