Phillip Schofield teases This Morning return as he gets negative covid test amid isolation

Phillip Schofield has teased he may be returning to host tomorrow's edition of This Morning .

The 59 year old posted a photo of a negative lateral flow test, meaning his time of isolation may be coming to an end.

Popular co-host Phillip could potentially return to the famous sofas alongside Holly Willoughby as soon as Tuesday, if he continues to recover well from the virus.

Posting to his three million followers on Instagram, the Dancing on Ice presenter took a snap of his test results.

As the test returned a single red line, the star no longer has Covid and can presumably get back to our TV screens.

The presenting veteran excitedly captioned the story: "Oh hello!! What do we have here?"

The red line also indicates the ITV star is not far away from a return to full-time hosting duties.

Phillip has been isolating at home since the end of January and has not featured on either This Morning or Dancing on Ice as he awaited his isolating time to come to an end.

Last night, Stephen Mulhern filled in for the silver haired star and Phillip watched the ice skating show from the comfort of his sofa with a nice beverage.

"Well this is an experience I never expected!! I’m loving watching with a G&T @hollywilloughby @stephenmulhern,” Phillip wrote as he got settled to watch the ITV showpiece.

Sunday’s episode marked the first occasion long time co-host Holly had presented the show without Philip and saw her reunited with her former Ministry of Mayhem presenting partner.

Stephen and Holly worked together on the children's TV show from 2004 to 2006 and the pair seemed to enjoy themselves back on screen together.

During her introduction on the show, Holly sent well-wishes to her friend and long term co-host Phillip.

"Welcome to the greatest show on ice, we have got a packed show tonight. You may have heard, Phil is isolating… so for the first time ever, he won't be here this week", the presenter explained.

Holly cheerfully added: "I know he's watching at home… we're sending you lots of love, Phil! However, the lovely Stephen Mulhern has stepped in to save the day!"

Stephen saved the day on Dancing on Ice and last week Vernon Kay had to step in to co-host This Morning with regulars Holly Willoughby and Rochelle Humes.

However, starting from tomorrow, daytime and Sunday nights on ITV look as thought they'll have a more familiar feel to it.
