It may be minus three… but Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson, 30, braves London’s sub-zero temperatures in a little black dress as she films summer scene for her Netflix adaptation of bestselling One Day novel
- Eleanor Tomlinson braved London’s cold in nothing but a little black dress
- She could hardly wear a hat and scarf to combat the -3C (27F) conditions
- The actress was filming scenes for Netflix’s version of David Nicholls’s One Day
Forget the winter woollies – actress Eleanor Tomlinson braved London’s sub-zero temperatures in nothing but a little black dress and slingbacks last week.
The Poldark star even managed to crack a smile, despite the very limited protection offered by her flimsy frock and black stilettos.
But the 30-year-old’s fashion choices were not her own, as she was filming scenes for her latest project, the Netflix adaptation of David Nicholls’s bestselling novel One Day. Since the action takes place in summer – catching up with its characters every July 15 over 20 years – she could hardly wear a hat and scarf to combat the -3C (27F) conditions. In the new series, Ms Tomlinson, who played Demelza opposite Aidan Turner’s Ross Poldark in the BBC1 period drama, will portray a seductive love cheat.

The lead characters Emma and Dexter are university friends who then meet up on the same day every year.
Ms Tomlinson will play Sylvie, Dexter’s wife, who ends up in bed with another man while her husband and baby girl are at home.
The Mail on Sunday first revealed that Netflix was making the show this summer, when Ms Tomlinson was seen filming scenes in South West London alongside The White Lotus actor Leo Woodall as Dexter.

Emma will be played by Ambika Mod, who starred in the BBC medical drama This Is Going To Hurt earlier this year.
One Day was previously adapted into a movie in 2011, with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in the lead roles. Blackadder star Tim McInnerny is believed to be playing Dexter’s father Steven in the Netflix version.
