Prince Andrew’s ex-maid claims he made her run upstairs to shut curtains

A former maid for Prince Andrew has claimed that he made her run up a flight of stairs to shut his curtains.

The Duke Of York is facing a civil trial over sexual assault allegations concerning claims he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre when she was aged 17. Andrew has always vehemently denied the accusation.

And reports of 61 year old Andrew's "spoilt" behaviour have also come to light in recent days, including his tantrums if maids "rearranged his teddy bears" as a grown man.

And now, his former maid Charlotte Briggs, 47, has claimed she was left in tears over the "demanding" and "entitled" royal's actions.

Speaking to The Sun, former Buckingham Palace worker Charlotte claimed Andrew made her run up a flight of stairs to close a small gap in his curtains despite him sitting right next to them.

Andrew was said to be livid over the gap in the curtains and vented at her: "Can't you f***ing do anything right?"

"This man fought for his country in the Falklands but couldn't stand up to close his own curtains," she told the publication.

She added: "It was utterly ridiculous but spoke volumes about him.

"Andrew definitely put a downer on things. He thinks he's above everyone."

Charlotte said that she took the job to be Andrew's maid because "nobody else wanted the job" due to his "tantrums and sweary outbursts".

She added that she soon hid from him to avoid his demands.

Earlier this week, a former royal protection officer claimed Andrew would "shout and scream" if maids rearranged his teddy bears.

Ex-cop Paul Page told presenter Ranvir Singh about the Duke of York's precious toys in the ITV documentary Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile.

Page, who was in the Royal Protection Command from 1998 to 2004, used to have access to Andrew's private apartment, where he claims he had a bed piled high with more than 50 cuddly toys.

Despite being a middle-aged father-of-two at the time, he would allegedly become 'verbally abusive' if staff moved the stuffed animals.

Last week, the Duke of York was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages.

Prince Andrew's roles have been returned to the Queen with immediate effect and will be redistributed to other members of the Royal Family in due course.

He will also stop using the style His Royal Highness in an official capacity.

Andrew has strenuously denied the allegations made by Ms Giuffre against him.
