Prince Harry and Meghan Markle called brain-dead and deadbeats on US talk show

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been written off as “deadbeats” and “grifters" by US talk show hosts following speculation they may exit their deal with Spotify amid recent controversy surrounding the streaming platform.

Spotify has received wide bashing from users and celebrities for its association with podcaster Joe Rogan, who has been accused of spreading anti-vaccine propaganda on his show, exclusively produced for the content-sharing service.

As Harry and Meghan – who are major supporters of vaccinations – are also tied to the platform through a $25 million podcasting deal, it’s been thought that the couple might now turn their backs on Spotify following many others.

Host of Fox News Tucker Carlson had much to say about the former senior Royals and the speculation of their deal exit as he made his feelings about the pair clear recently saying:

“That annoying fake duchess from LA and her brain-dead husband threatened to walk unless Spotify muzzled Joe Rogan. But they’re not going anywhere.

“These two grifters have a $25million deal with Spotify for essentially no work. So far, we believe they have produced just over 30 minutes of content.

“That means these two have been paid about a million dollars for each minute of talking they’ve done. That’s a good gig. It’s too good to leave.”

Host Greg Gutfield shared similar thoughts on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on his show The Five as he referenced the couple as a “bunch of deadbeats” harshly following Mr Carlson’s tirade.

Guest and retired New York judge, Jeanine Pirro, didn’t have kind words for Harry and Meghan either, calling the pair “irrelevant” as he added: “In America, nobody cares what you think”.

These judgments follow a Royal expert’s claims that Harry and Meghan will not walk away from their multi-million dollar Spotify deal, following money over “principles” instead.

Although the couple addressed concerns over Spotify’s controversy in a statement as they stated they would ensure the platform made changes in the attitudes expressed on the public health crisis, the ex Royals for now still remain in deal with the service.

“For years they've gone on about the dangers of misinformation, it’s become a real pet cause of theirs,” Royal specialist Richard Eden told Mail Plus Palace Confidential.

"And then here they are with Spotify, accused of spreading misinformation through Joe Rogan's very popular podcast.

“But Harry and Meghan have signed a very lucrative deal with Spotify that’s meant to be worth £18million.

"So between the principles and money, it's always a question of which will they go for and it seems they've gone for the money.

"They put out a rather sort of mealy-mouthed statement about the dangers of misinformation, but they've made clear they're sticking with Spotify. So it looks like sort of Joe Rogan's won really."
