Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sitting near King shows couple back at heart of family

Prince HarryandMeghan Markle sat behind the King and Queen Consort during the funeral service of the lateQueen Elizabeth II, putting them front and centre for the Royal event.

This seating arrangement is being said to reflect that the couple may be back in the heart of the Royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working royals in 2020, and now live with their two children Archie and Lilibet to the US.

For the funeral service the pair were welcomed back into the fold and allowed to sit alongside other members of the royal family at the front of Westminster Abbey.

The Duke of Sussex also joined his brother, and other members of the royal family in the procession following the Queen’s coffin from Westminster Hall, where she had been Lying-In-State, to Westminster Abbey.

Led by King Charles, senior royals joined the main procession as they walked behind Her Majesty’s coffin as it made the short journey from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey.

As the coffin was carried by the 98 Royal Navy sailors on the State Gun carriage, the King could be seen walking immediately behind, while his siblings the Princess Royal, the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex followed soon after.

Princes William and Harry put their differences aside to walk side-by-side too, alongside their cousin Peter Phillips.

Ahead of the procession the coffin was carried by the 98 Royal Navy sailors on the State Gun carriage.

The coffin has been draped in the Royal Standard and carries the Imperial State Crown and a wreath of flowers containing plants from the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House.

The plants have been chosen for their symbolism. Among the selected plants including rosemary, for remembrance, and myrtle cut from a plant which was grown from a sprig of myrtle in the Queen’s wedding bouquet.

The royals were greeted by thousands of mourners who gathered outside of the Palace of Westminster to be a part of the historic occasion.
