Prince Harry teamed up with Hollywood actor Melissa McCarthy to help film Meghan Markle’s birthday message. However, during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine today, Melissa said the Duke Of Sussex had a “weird” request.
As many may remember, to mark Meghan’s 40th birthday, she released a short video.
Bridesmaids star Melissa made a cameo in the clip with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Melissa, 51, has now opened up about this in an interview with Ross King and Chris O’Dowd.
She was discussing her upcoming film The Starling when she was asked about working with Meghan.
Ross asked: “That moment in that video, it seems so surreal. Was it like that for you?”
Opening up, Melissa said: “You know what was so cute?
“I could tell he walked in because we were talking and she went ‘Oh hi’ and her whole face lit up.
“And I was like, ‘Did Prince Harry just walk in the room?’
“I just thought it was so sweet and genuine.”
However, the actress admitted Prince Harry then asked if he could juggle in the background.
“And then he ducked his head in [to the video call] and was like, ‘Is it weird if I juggle?’” she continued.
“And I said, ‘Yes it sure is’ and then I said, ‘What about outside the window?’”
“He said, ‘That’s what I was thinking, maybe I’m just standing out there for no reason juggling’.
Melissa added: “I was like, ‘Are you weird and funny to boot?’
“I love anyone that will do something weird just for weird’s sake so I was like ‘I tip my hat’.”
The video, filmed at their California home in Montecito, was released back in August.
At the time, eagle-eyed viewers spotted Prince Harry juggling in the background.
In a bloopers section at the end, he could be seen tossing balls into the air through a window.
As he dropped them, Melissa burst into laughter while Meghan simply asked, “What?”
The video was all about the Duchess of Sussex asking 40 of her friends to spend 40 minutes mentoring women reentering the workforce.
The idea behind it was to help women who had lost their jobs due to Covid.
