Queen’s grandson James, 14, looks heartbroken as he says goodbye to ‘granny’

Queen Elizabeth II's youngest grandchild James Viscount Severn looked heartbroken as he attended the Queen's funeral to say his final goodbye to his grandmother.

Lady Louise Windsor and her brother James, Viscount Severn have joined senior royals at the state funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Lady Louise, 18, and 14 year old James accompanied their parents, Prince Edward andSophie Wessex, at the emotional ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

The pair looked devastated as they walked into the church following behind Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli.

Louise and James showed maturity as they joined their older cousins at the Queen's funeral, as they sat together with Beatrice and Edoardo.

Louise looked emotional as she wore a black dress and headband, while a smart-looking James looked down at the ground in a black suit and tie.

James was comforted by Mike Tindall, Zara Tindall's husband as they entered Westminster Abbey.

The former rugby player was seen placing his hand behind James' back to comfort the 14 year old ahead of the service.

Since the late Her Majesty’s passing on 8 September, Louise and brother James have been spotted paying their respects to their beloved grandmother.

The pair, who were the Queen’s youngest grandchildren, also accompanied their cousins to Westminster Hall where they took part in the Vigil of the Princes at the weekend.

Having previously watched their father take part in the moving ceremony, Louise and James joinedPrince William,Prince Harry,Zara Tindall andPeter Philips and Princesses Beatrice andEugenie to stand guard of the Queen’s coffin.

For the occasion, Louise wore a traditional black dress which she accessorised with a silver necklace that featured an outline of a horse’s head.

It’s thought that the necklace was in honour of her late grandmother, who she shared a bond with over their shared passion for horses.

Much like Queen Elizabeth, Louise has a strong love for horses and was often spotted riding the creatures of the Queen’s many estates.

While at the funeral ofPrince Philip last year, Louise also paid a poignant tribute to her doting grandfather by wearing a horse riding related brooch.
