The music producer, who has had his fair share of health issues through the years, was transported to the emergency room on Saturday, June 17 after paramedics were called to his home in Los Angeles.
AceShowbiz –Quincy Jones has allegedly been taken to hospital after suffering a medical emergency. According to a new report, the multi-Grammy Award winner was rushed to a hospital on Saturday afternoon, June 17.
A representative for the 90-year-old divulged that he had a “bad reaction to some food he ate.” The rep additionally told TMZ, “Out of an abundance of caution he called 911 for help.”
Jones was transported to the emergency room after paramedics were called to his home in Los Angeles. Luckily, the music producer reportedly never lost consciousness and was in “great spirits” by the time he was given the all-clear by doctors.
Jones has experienced some health issues through the years. In 1974, he suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm which led him to have two surgeries and left him with six steel pins in his head. “I actually had two brain aneurysms,” he said in his 2018 documentary, “Quincy”. He added, “So I guess I would classify as having some experience with trauma to the brain.”
“Also, my mother suffered from mental illness,” he continued. “She was a brilliant woman who spoke several languages and had degrees from several colleges, but she had this condition that debilitated her, which today could’ve been controlled with medication. But at the time, during the Depression, they simply would commit you.”
When asked what he learned from his past struggles, Jones responded, “The same thing the brain operation taught me: that you have to tell the people you care about how much you care about them.” He went on to note, “Just let it all out. I was so happy to be alive.
In 2015, Jones was rushed to hospital after he fell ill with chest pains and shortness of breath at his Bel Air home. Fortunately, his rep told Page Six at the time that he was “fine.”
