Rachel Riley gives birth: Countdown star welcomes second child with husband Pasha Kovalev

Congratulations are in order for Rachel Riley and Pasha Kovalev, who have welcomed their second child together.

The Countdown presenter took to Instagram to share the exciting news of her new arrival alongside a snap off herself and husband Pasha holding up their adorable newborn daughter, who was born on Friday 5 November.

Another image in the post sees the smiling new-mum-of two looking down at the bundle of joy, who the couple have called Noa, while cradling her.

A final snap shows the couple's eldest daughter Maven having a cuddle with her new little sister.

The 35 year old wrote in the caption: "We have some news…!

"Introducing Pasha’s newest dance partner – baby Noa was finally born, 15 days after her due date, late on Friday night to the sound of fireworks!"

The Countdown star continued: "She’s totally adorable and her big sister Maven has already tried welcoming her to the world by offering Oatly and pickles, we think that’s a good sign.

"Massive thanks to the wonderful home birth midwives team and my doula who looked after us all so well.

"Ps thanks too to my namesake @rachelrileyuk for the lovely rainbow baby clothes for our gorgeous rainbow baby. Our family feels complete now she’s here."

Last month, Rachel hinted that her little one's arrival was imminent when she shared a picture of herself and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Pasha on holiday with their daughter Maven, who turns two in December.

She wrote: “Cooking nicely – not long left now! Can’t quite get my head around having two tiny humans yet… guess I will do soon enough!” Rachel added a laughing face alongside a baby and little girl emoji.

In the snap, Pasha, 41, can be seen cradling Rachel’s bump as little Maven points at something out of shot.

Rachel added in the caption: “And thanks for keeping me clothed @nobodyschil, especially helpful as next to nothing else fits right now! #preggo #gifted.”

The couple announced they were expecting their second child back in April.

Rachel shared an image of herself standing next to the Countdown board, which read “fittRiley”, while she cradled her bump in a floral dress.

She told her legion of followers: “A special teatime teaser!

“And your clue is… Riley had this to thank for the reason her clothes no longer fit her…

“And it’ll only get worse till Autumn!” She went on: “Happy, happy days for our little family @pashakovalev and future big sister Mave”.

Last year, Rachel exclusively told OK! that the pair were keen to expand their brood, but they wanted to wait until Maven had grown up a little bit.

She told us: “Yeah, I think we would like more at some stage. I’m one of two and Pasha is one of two.

"We were quite late to the party so a lot of my friends have more kids but we’ve only got a nine month old at the moment so I think we need to get her a bit bigger first!”

Rachel also opened up about how much she was enjoying breastfeeding Maven, telling us: “It’s great. It’s so much easier. We tried to give her bottled breast milk early doors and she took it maybe twice and then said, ‘No, I’m not having that’.

“It’s made me really lazy because if she’s tired or upset I just give her the boob, whereas Pasha is actually a really good parent and has had to learn everything for when I’m not around.

“It’s like we know a totally different baby because all the tricks we know and what she wants are totally different for both of us.”
