The Real Housewives of Cheshire is said to be facing serious disruption after several stars of the show quit in recent months, leaving producers in desperate need of cast replacements.
The popular ITVBe series has most recently seen leading names Tanya Bardsley and Dawn Ward depart along with Esther Dee, Debbie Davies and Lauren Brown, resulting in a less than stable list of show regulars left.
Producers are reportedly looking for fresh new talent to join The Real Housewives of Cheshire following so many exits, in hopes of reviving the series and keeping viewers satisfied.
"It's a nightmare to lose so many people, especially such big characters like Tanya," a source told The Sun.
"After Debbie quit bosses knew it was time to start hunting for new stars – they know they've got some huge personalities to replace so they're not looking for just anyone."
Original member of the series Tanya confirmed in December her decision to quit the show after six years in order to prioritise her mental health after being diagnosed with ADHD earlier on last year.
The 40 year old broke down in tears on the reunion episode as she explained her reasons for leaving in relation to the anxiety she suffered outside of the show, stating that she was “learning to navigate her health” through it all.
"Tanya has been really struggling with her anxiety recently, it got bad over lockdown and she just really wants to concentrate on herself," an insider told The Sun around the time of the news.
“Her recent collapse really scared her and she knows she can’t continue juggling so many plates.
“She loves the show but it is really stressful at times and it just feels like the right time for her to walk away.”
Fellow cast member Dawn Ward also left the Real Housewives of Cheshire in December of 2020 after 12 seasons, confirming her departure via social media.
"Having been on the real housewives of Cheshire for almost 7 years & 12 seasons, I’ve had the most incredible journey, not just me, but my whole family. It really has been amazing for us," Dawn said.
"Season 12 has now come to an end and filming has finished. It’s been difficult this season with the pandemic but the cast and our amazing production team have pulled it off again, it’s been fun!
"Everyone who knows me knows I’m all about my family, so I’ve decided that after 12 seasons on the show I would like to concentrate on projects with them."
