Rebekah Vardy's ex husband Steve Clarke has denied claims he "forced" her to do the kiss-and-tell interview on Peter Andre.
Rebekah, 40, spilled on her one night stand with the Mysterious Girl singer, 49, in an interview with the News of the World in 2004. The alleged fling is said to have happened two years before the interview.
The star claimed Peter's manhood was "like a miniature chipolata" in the scathing interview, which has resurfaced amid her libel trial against Coleen Rooney. Peter has since said the claims have been "debilitating" on him and his kids have even questioned him on the reports.
As she was questioned in High Court about the interview, Jamie Vardy's wife claimed some of the quotes in the article were not her own words, and she “deeply regrets” it.
She also said she was “forced” to do the interview by her ex-husband, which he has now denied.
Steve has claimed Rebekah's decision to do the tell all was her own after she saw an appeal in a newspaper asking for stories on the incoming I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestants for that year.
He said: "Becky said to me, 'Oh look, I should tell them about Peter Andre.
"I asked her why she would want to do that and she replied that it would be a bit of money for her and it would be funny. I told her she should do whatever she wanted to do."
Steve claimed that after Rebekah made arrangements to talk to the newspaper, his only involvement was driving her to the photographer studio in London and picking her up afterwards.
Rebekah's ex-husband also alleged that he was advised by the journalist not to be present for the interview.
"I was told when we arrived at the studio that it wasn't a good idea for me to be there because it might influence what Becky may or may not say," Steve said.
He added: "I was also told it might be a little embarrassing for me, so she said she would call me when she was finished."
"She told me she stayed respectful," Steve said.
Steve also claimed Rebekah spilled on her fling with Peter to her colleagues as he said: "Rebekah was chatty, fun and pretty, but I didn't know much more until everyone started talking about her spending the night with Peter.
"She had told colleagues and it became the talk of the office, Within a week of it happening, everybody knew what had happened. She could not keep it quiet."
He added: "I feel sorry for Peter Andre for what was said about him and now it's time I spoke out."

Meanwhile, a source recently told OK! Peter "has no recollection" of meeting Becky.
They said: "Pete is livid.
"This whole thing has been really hard on him and the family, but it’s made him think about the wider story and that is that other people shouldn’t be allowed to talk about others in this way."
They added: “It’s so discriminating to say this about a man, this would not be said about a woman.
"His children have been asking what the story is about, which is really difficult. He has no recollection of meeting this person, never mind anything else."
