Piers Morgan proposes that Ricky Gervais is ‘unleashed’ on red carpet
Jane Fallon, 62, says she wasn’t “worried” about having facial surgery, as she updated fans with the news that she had a “thing” removed from her face this afternoon.
On Tuesday, the long-term partner of comedian Ricky Gervais, 61, posted a selfie to Twitter and revealed that she was going under the knife today for a growth that was initially thought to be a freckle, but has now “grown into something potentially more worrying”.
Jane was glowing in the picture as she had her blonde hair scraped back from her face, and a pair of sunglasses placed on top of her head.
She wore a grey top and included an arrow pointing to a small freckle on the left side of her nose, just above her mouth.
In the original tweet, she shared the image with her 60,000 social media followers and wrote: “Goodbye ‘thing on my face’.

“You tried to hide under a freckle, but now you’ve grown into something potentially more worrying, you have to go.”
She added: “Don’t you dare leave a scar.”
In a follow-up tweet posted later in the afternoon, she alluded to why her eyes looked slightly pink in the picture.
She quoted the original post and wrote: “By the way, I have hay fever. Not worried in the slightest.”
In a further update, she revealed that the “thing” had since gone to “biopsy heaven.”
Jane joked: “I bet it never rings, never calls. Ungrateful little s***”.
Since posting, fans have come out in their droves to support the author.
One wrote: “I hope whatever the bump is that it’s benign and there (sic) is no scarring but even if you get a scar it will just add character.”
Another said: “With those fabulous green eyes.. no one will notice a teeny tiny scar.”
A third commented: “Ooo… sending good luck vibes… hopefully won’t scar.. but if it does, you can make up a cool story of how you got it.”

Other fans have been sharing their own surgery stories with Jane, as well as offering advice to prevent scarring.
One wrote: “My GP chopped a little cyst out from the same place, the anaesthetic hurt but I was in and out in 7 minutes!”
A second wrote: “I cried having my op’ but only with laughing because the dermatologist told me that it isn’t all sun damage as he had taken one off some poor chaps a***!”
Another said: “Hope it goes painlessly! For the scar prevention, silicone does wonders. Had a surgery with a nasty incision and there’s nothing noticeable post-healing.

A fourth Twitter user dispensed some tried-and-tested wisdom: “Buy vitamin E gel capsules and burst to use as (sic) moisturiser when appropriate.
“Got this tip from a surprisingly economic plastic surgeon years ago. Said it’s as or more effective than “fancy” creams, it’s worked for me. Best of luck.”
Following the outpouring of support, Jane has been responding to the positive messages.
In one Tweet, she reflected on ageing and said that she believes getting older is “just going to be an endless stream of things growing and being removed”.
