Robbie Coltrane’s devastated daughter Alice pays touching tribute to late dad

Alice McMillan has shared a touching tribute to her late father Robbie Coltrane, following his death on 14 October.

Alice, 24, who is an actress, posted an adorable photograph of her cuddling Harry Potter star Robbie, who passed away at the age of 72.

In the snap Alice can be seen holding her dad and planting a kiss on his head. She shared the shot on her Instagram Stories and captioned it with a black heart emoji.

Robbie, famed for his portrayal of Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, passed away on Friday 14 October, his agent announced in a statement.

He is survived by his two children, Alice and son Spencer, who he shares with ex-wife Rhona Gemmell.

Robbie’s agent Belinda Wright announced the actor's death in a statement, which said: “My client and friend Robbie Coltrane OBE passed away on Friday October 14.

"Robbie was a unique talent, sharing the Guinness Book of Records’ Award for winning three consecutive Best Actor Baftas for his portrayal of Fitz in Granada TV’s series Cracker in 1994, 1995 and 1996 with Sir Michael Gambon.

“He will probably be best remembered for decades to come as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, a role which brought joy to children and adults alike all over the world, prompting a stream of fan letters every week for over 20 years."

She added: “James Bond fans write too to applaud his role in GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough.

“For me personally I shall remember him as an abidingly loyal client. As well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent, brilliantly witty and after 40 years of being proud to be called his agent, I shall miss him."

Robbie's agent did not give details on his death – but said Coltrane's family thanked the team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for their care.

“He is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his children Spencer and Alice and their mother Rhona Gemmell. They would like to thank the medical staff at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for their care and diplomacy," his agent added.

Alice followed in her father's footsteps and has carved out a career as an actress, with her most notable credits being in The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, Roadkill and The Souvenir.

Meanwhile, her older brother Spencer, who was born in 1992, has made an effort to stay out of the spotlight despite his father's highly successful movie career.
