‘There’s no sex after marriage!’ Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field admit they rarely get intimate – but insist they’re ‘happy’ with their lack of bedroom activity
Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field have admitted they barely ever have sex.
The former Take That singer, 49, blamed his lack of libido on coming off testosterone injections, which had been worsening his depression.
In a joint interview, the pair insisted they’re ‘on the same page’ when it comes to intimacy and are content with their lack of bedroom activity.
Robbie told The Sun: ‘Everyone knows there is no sex after marriage. That’s just the way it is. I was on testosterone for a while but, because I’m an addict, that had to stop. I got these massive square shoulders and started to look like a doorman. It wasn’t a good look.
‘But the sex we had when I was on testosterone was incredible; it was all the time. We were insatiable. It goes to show how into each other we really are, though, because when I was on it, we couldn’t take our hands off each other.

‘I miss that. That was a fun period. Sometimes now, though, Ayda will turn to me on the sofa and say, “We should do sex,” and I’m sitting there eating a tangerine and just sort of shrug. So, ya know, sometimes we try.’
The actress, 43, who married her popstar partner in 2010, concluded: ‘Intimacy is the important, meaningful side of love. We’re happy.’
Robbie was showing off his incredibly trim physique in a recent video, which comes months after he revealed his weight is a ‘constant battle’.
The Angels hitmaker was seen larking around in the sunshine in the video shared by Ayda, who could not resist adding a cheeky caption.
The stunner, who has Theodora, 10, Charlton, eight, Coco, four, and Beau, four, with Robbie, penned: ‘He’s got Robbie Williams’ eyes #zaddy #stillgotit #nofilterneeded #crush AWxx @robbiewilliams’.
Robbie was shirtless in the video, playing with his son and showing off his inked-up torso with low-slung Louis Vuitton shorts and a bright pink cap. His display of his lithe frame comes after years of battling his weight and substance abuse battles.
Back in September, Robbie admitted that he is finally happy following his recent weight loss. The singer, who has spoken openly in the past about his addictions to both food and drugs, added that he has learnt to accept himself.
Last year, Robbie released his album XXV, and has just returned from tour – in career milestones that mark 25 years since he embarked on a solo career following his departure from Take That, and subsequent battles with his diet and drugs.

Cheeky! Ayda could not resist commenting on her husband’s buff body
Speaking in an interview with The Sun, Robbie said: ‘I have lost weight but it is a constant fight. Inside me there’s a giant person…
‘Thank God for vanity, and thank God for my job, because if I didn’t do what I do for a living I dread to think what I would look like and what I would become.’
The singer, who has now been sober for 20 years, revealed that he has finally learnt to accept himself after struggling in the past.
He added: ‘I hated myself and I thought I couldn’t sing and looked like s**t. If anyone thought I was wandering round with an inflated sense of self-importance it is actually the opposite.
It comes as Robbie candidly revealed that he gained vast amounts of weight when he used to get high and go food shopping.
The singer found himself on a slippery slope when he left Take That in 1995 and adjusted to his new life.
Speaking on his At Home with Williamses podcast, the star said his drug use and bad diet contributed to his weight gain.
He said: ‘I rented a flat. I went to the supermarket on my first shop. Once. Stoned. Don’t go to a supermarket stoned. You make bad choices.

‘I opened the fridge and there was this whole Mr Kipling cake. And I can remember this moment going, ‘Hang on, I don’t live with my mum. I can eat all that cake’.’
He explained that his newfound freedom caused him to put on the pounds in the following months.
He said: ‘That was January. By February I was morbidly obese. I looked like a farm animal as it was quoted in the press in 1996, ‘Mr Kipling is a b*****d’.’
Robbie has been open about his struggles with drugs and his weight in the past and he was made an ambassador for Weight Watchers in 2018.

He previously admitted he was just ’24 hours away from death’ at the height of his addiction, which saw him taking a dangerous cocktail of drugs.
He said in 2009: ‘I would do 20 Vicodin in a night. I might have been 24 hours away from dying. Then I’d take Adderall, which was like speed for people with ADHD. I’d be doing colossal, heart-stopping amounts of that.’
