Royal fans think Prince William made a dig at brother Harry in Coronation speech

Prince William had royal fans convinced that he was making a jibe at his younger brother Prince Harry on Sunday while taking to the stage with a speech during the King's Coronation concert.

The Prince of Wales took to the stage to share with the large crowd, and the millions watching at home, his pride of father King Charles, also making a special mention to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

But one moment during the speech had some viewers raising eyebrows as they suspected it could be a reference to William's brother, who wasn't in attendance for the concert.

During his honourable speech, he said: "For all that celebrations are magnificent, at the heart of the pageantry is a simple message – service."

While he didn't mention Harry or sister-in-law Meghan Markle by name, many assumed that this was related to the statement the couple once put out themselves, where they spoke on living 'a life of service'.

"We can all live a life of service. Service is universal," said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a statement after deciding to stand down as working royals.

Taking to Twitter to discuss the moment, one viewer slammed: "Service Harry. Do you hear that? Not a free ride. #CoronationConcert "

"SERVICE. Something Harry doesn't understand," said another angry royal fan.

Some had differing opinions as they assured that Harry was doing his part for a life of service, while others didn't appear to make the connection.

Harry did show support for his family by attending Saturday's Coronation, flying in solo from the US on Friday morning as Meghan remained in California with their two children; Archie, four, and one-year-old Lilibet.

The duke, who remains fifth in line to the thrown, was seated in the third row inside Westminster Abbey for the ceremony, alongside cousins Princess Beatrice and Eugenie as the two rows in front were reserved for working royals only.

Despite attending the event, it was a quick turnaround for Harry, who was spotted making his way back to the airport within hours of the ceremony and heading back to the US on a British Airways flight in order to celebrate son Archie's birthday – which fell on the same day.

This meant that he missed out on the family's post-Coronation buffet lunch, which he is thought to have been invited to.

It was the first public appearance involving Harry and his family since the release of his controversial memoir Spare, in which he lambasted his family – particularly brother William, father Charles and stepmother Camilla.

Despite Harry's no-show to Sunday evening's concert, the rest of the royals were out in full force as they even arrived earlier than expected to the show.

Featuring performances from a number of acclaimed stars, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie were amongst the chart-topping singers to appear on stage, while choir, dance and theatre performances also made up the show.
