RuPaul’s Drag Race star Baga Chipz ‘bags role’ in Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge

RuPaul's Drag Race UK favourite Baga Chipz has bagged an acting role on the popular Channel 4 school drama Ackley Bridge.

Baga – real name Leo Loren – hit our screens in 2019 when she came third in the UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Baga Chipz, 31, has enjoyed success since her time on the BBC Three reality show appearing on Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Karaoke Club and The Celebrity Circle.

But now she is looking to branch out into an acting career and is said to be joining the cast in the fifth series of Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge.

A source told The Sun: “Baga caught the attention of Ackley producers, having appeared on a variety of reality shows since RuPaul.

“But while she loves a bit of low-rent telly, she also wants to prove there’s more than just big, brash Baga.

“Ackley Bridge’s bosses were impressed with what they saw from Baga on set.

“And having first been on set last week, she’ll now be back for more in January when she will film again.

"Her character is being kept a closely guarded secret for now, but no doubt we’ll be hearing more in due course.”

OK! has contacted Channel 4 for comment.

The popular show hit our screens in 2017. Set in a Yorkshire mill town, it centres around a new academy school that merges the lives of the largely divided white and Asian community that live there.

The fourth series should have arrived in September 2020 but filming was interrupted by Covid, meaning it didn’t air until April this year.

Veteran drag performer Baga enlisted the help of LGBTQ+ ambassador for Allergan UK and facial balance and harmony expert Dr Vincent Wong back in 2019 to change her look.

Under Dr Wong, Baga underwent a series of procedures which included fillers using Juvederm from Allergan for facial contouring and balancing which includes tear trough (under eyes), cheeks, chin and lip enhancements.

The star also had a scar on her forehead reduced using Juverderm fillers, as well as having a skin lesion removed under her right eye using Jett Plasma.

Her face was also injected with vitamins and minerals from NCTF by FillMed.

Dr Wong exclusively told OK!: "Baga came to me hoping to get healthier glowing skin, look more 'balanced' and refreshed, thinner and more lifted.

"He also wanted to correct his lips — they were asymmetrical and quite lumpy."
