Russell Kane is apparently so hilarious, he should come with a health warning, as it turns out he made an audience member laugh so hard, the punter ended up having a heart attack.
The writer, presenter and actor is currently touring the UK with his stand-up comedy, and this week received a message from a man who was at one of his shows.
Rather than simply congratulating him on a good gig, the man let Russell know that the comedian had made him laugh so much he began suffering a heart attack.
While a serious compliment to Russell’s skills as a comedian, obviously having an audience member become seriously ill isn’t exactly what you like to hear – but thankfully the man in question is doing well.
Russell took to Instagram where he shared the message he received from the fan, which read: ‘Sorry my wife and I walked out of your show in Tunbridge Wells last night, it turns out we were laughing so much I had a small heart attack.’
He added that he’s doing well and should be released from hospital the next day.
And, clearly, there’s no hard feelings, as he added: ‘To be honest, it wouldn’t be a bad way to go. Great show, keep it up!’
Russell captioned the shocking text: ‘Come to my show I dare you!’ along with a laughing emoji.
He also shared where customers can buy tickets for his gigs, but added: ‘Maybe don’t do that if you have any pre-existing cardiological issues.’
Russell himself is known for high high-energy stand-up, often bouncing around on – and off – stage.
Last year the actor was spotted leaving a party in central London with his shirt ripped open, happily baring his chest to photographers and pulling a face, while wife Lindsey Cole cracked up in the taxi beside him.
Russell and Lindsey tied the knot in 2014, after the comedian spotted her in the front row of one of his shows and brought her into his routine before asking her on a date.
They wet on to welcome a daughter, Mina, now seven.
It just goes to show you never know what’s going to happen at a Russell Kane gig!
