Rylan Clark-Neal pulls out of hosting gig amid split from husband Dan

Rylan Clark-Neal has pulled out of another work commitment as he continues to take time off while ‘seeking help’ following the break-up of his marriage.

The 32-year-old had been set to host the Fantasia concert at Promenade Park in Essex on Saturday and Sunday, alongside Joey Essex and Denise Van Outen.

Artists including Tony Hadley, Gabrielle, Peter Andrew, Five, S Club and Boyzlife are performing at the gig, which had been rescheduled from June, and Rylan was also scheduled to perform a DJ set.

However, a rep for the star confirmed to the Express: ‘Unfortunately Rylan is unable to be part of the event this weekend.’

Rylan has took leave from a number of work commitments since May, when he pulled out of hosting the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals with Scott Mills and Chelcee Grimes.

He also has not hosted his BBC Radio 2 show since May 8.

In June, the star confirmed that he had split from his husband of six years Dan, and said he was ‘not in a good place’.

Rylan said in a statement: ‘I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

‘I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

‘I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.’

While later thanking fans for their kind messages, the former X Factor star said: ‘We are currently prioritising our mental health and looking after the ones around us we love most.

‘I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course. Thank you for being patient with me.’

Rylan and Dan met after the latter’s time as a housemate on Big Brother, while Rylan presented Bit On The Side, and got engaged in 2014 before marrying the following year.

Rylan is stepdad to Dan’s son Cameron, and the former couple gained fans when they presented This Morning together.

Since competing on The X Factor in 2012, Rylan has become one of UK television’s most beloved presenters, hosting shows including Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two and the rebooted series of Ready Steady Cook.

He is expected to return to It Takes Two to co-host with Janette Manrara, following the departure of Zoe Ball.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Rylan’s rep for further comment.
