Sam Asghari Breaks Silence on Britney Spears Amid Documentary Release

The New York Times released a new documentary about Britney Spears’ life called Framing Britney Spears, which covers the pop star’s meteoric rise to fame, her conservatorship battle, and the #FreeBritney movement. The documentary has prompted a ton of support from Britney’s fellow celebrities, and now her boyfriend Sam Asghari is speaking out.

While Sam didn’t refer to the documentary directly, he told People “I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves. I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, Britney was told about Framing Britney Spears by her team, and a source confirmed, “She’s always made aware of any important new releases that pertain to her life and career, and this was no different. She hasn’t seen the documentary because she never likes to focus on what others say about her.”

The documentary has also lead to a lot of criticism of Justin Timberlake due to his role in vilifying Britney in the press during their breakup, but the source says Britney has “no interest in getting involved with any details being discussed about her past relationship with Justin Timberlake,” adding “She wouldn’t want her fans to speak negatively about him because she has the utmost respect for both Justin and his wife. She laughed about how people are talking about it now. It happened so long ago. Right now, Britney’s focused on getting some new projects off the ground. And, as always, her dance moves and choreography.”

It’s important to note that while sources claim Britney feels this way, fans haven’t heard it directly from Britney herself. As Framing Britney Spears producer/director Samantha Stark told ET, “We, as The New York Times, haven’t interviewed her because we want to be able to do it freely, with no one trying to adjust what she says or anything. And it just feels like you can’t ask Britney.”
