Sam Quek holds hands with husband at Chester Races after welcoming second child

Sam Quek made an appearance at Chester Races on Thursday just a couple of months after she welcomed the arrival of son Zac.

The Olympian and This Morning Live presenter looked gorgeous in a beautiful white dress with a subtle floral design, as she held hands with her husband Tom Mairs.

It was a chance for Sam, 33, to take some much-needed time away from the children and enjoy a day at the races with Tom.

Sam gave birth to daughter Molly 15 months ago, with Zac following in March this year.

She styled the stunning dress, which featured a fitted top with elbow-length sleeves and a floaty chiffon skirt, with an oversized clutch bag and gold heels.

To complete the look she sported a pay of classic aviator sunglasses, with her hair in loose waves.

The couple were attending Chester Races’ Boodles May Festival Ladies Day.

Tom, an entrepreneur, also looked the part wearing a dark navy blazer and a pair of slate chinos. He completed the look with a white shirt and a striped blue tie.

Sam shared photos of the day on Instagram, along with the caption: “Wonderful to be back at @ChesterRaces and to see crowds and fab outfits”.

“The course looks AWESOME and the sun is shining too. Fingers crossed I pick some winners #ChesterRaces #MayMemories.”

The day out is a world away from Zac’s dramatic birth back in March.

The TV presenter went into labour just one day after she hosted Morning Live with Gethin Jones.

She previously told OK! that she was due to be hosting the BBC show on Friday 11 March, but that in the early hours of the morning she began to experience contractions and then panicked as she noticed she was bleeding.

Her and Tom went to hospital where they were told everything was ok, but that Sam should remain in their care as a precaution.

Tom returned home to look after Molly, but at 11am the couple’s consultant delivered the news that Sam needed an emergency C-section.

Sam said that she wouldn’t go into theatre until Tom was there, and rang her to say that they would do the C-section once he arrived.

Tom rushed to the hospital and baby Isaac, called Zac by his parents, was delivered safely.

Recalling the moment she was introduced to her newborn son, she told OK!: “I cried. When his little face popped up over the curtain, it was the realisation that he’d finally got here, was safe and was going to join our family of three to make it four.”
