Sarah Ferguson wasnt invited to the coronation but shes going to the concert

Sarah Ferguson wasn’t invited to the coronation. No one expected Fergie to be invited, least of all Fergie. The surprise was when she was invited to QEII’s funeral and to Christmas at Sandringham. In any case, Fergie has been invited to the not-so-star-studded coronation concert, and the fact that people are making such a big deal about FERGIE attending should give everyone pause. There’s such a lack of buzz and excitement around the whole coronation weekend.

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, may have missed out on an invite to the coronation of King Charles, but she has been awarded the consolation prize of being invited to attend the Windsor Castle concert as part of the VIP royal group. The concert has reportedly struggled to attract talent, with Harry Styles otherwise engaged and and a rumored Spice Girls reunion not happening. Confirmed acts include Take That, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.

The Sun reports that Fergie will get a ticket to the concert despite having been passed over for an invite to the main event, the crowning of Charles and Camilla at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The paper also reports that Prince Andrew will attend the concert as the king continues his attempts to rehabilitate the prince, who settled a multimillion-dollar sex abuse case brought against him by a victim of Jeffrey Epstein last year.

The concert will be a family outing for the Yorks, with their daughters Beatrice, 34, and Eugenie, 33, also due to attend. A royal insider told the Sun that while Fergie would “never have expected an invitation to the coronation,” she was “delighted to be joining the wider family for the coronation concert.”

The source said: “She cherishes those more relaxed times with the family and, contrary to some reports, is fully accepting of the situation. She did, of course, join the family for the Sandringham Christmas celebrations, so it’s clear there is no ill will in either direction. Quite the contrary.”

The concert invite is a consolation prize, but again, she didn’t expect to be invited to the coronation. I even suspect that if she had gotten an invite, she probably would have turned it down. Fergie was also on Good Morning Britain yesterday and she was asked about not getting an invite:

“You can’t have it both ways. You mustn’t sit on the fence. You’re either in or out, but don’t muck around,” the Duchess of York said on “Good Morning Britain” Thursday, breaking her silence on the headline-making snub. Ferguson insisted she is “not actually” offended by the lack of invitation, as she is enjoying single life and building her career as a novelist.

“I am divorced, and I’m really loving being divorced to my ex-husband — not from my ex-husband, it’s quite a differentiate — and also getting out there as a new novelist,” the “A Most Intriguing Lady” author said. Ferguson, 63, shared that she is still quite close with both Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, and will be celebrating the historic occasion anyway.

“Just because I’m not there on the state occasion … in private I can be there, and that’s a lovely feeling to be part of the family. It really is,” she said. Ferguson praised the king, 74, and queen, 75, saying they have done an “exceptional job at unifying the family.”

As much as people want to make Fergie’s “you’re either in or your out” comments about the Sussexes, it’s been clear that she’s talking about herself this whole time. Besides, Charles invited the Sussexes to the Chubbly. During this interview, Fergie also talked at length about her ex-husband, and she once again repeated her same dumb talking points: “With Prince Andrew, he’s such a good man. He’s a kind, good man, and I think the spotlight needs to come off of him and let him get on with his life to rebuild.” He could have used the past four years to quietly rebuild and devote himself to charity work, but instead he hired PR experts who “went on the attack” and threatened to sue his rape victim. So here we are.
