Scared Of The Dark: Chris Eubank QUITS the show

Scared Of The Dark: Chris Eubank QUITS the show as he leaves the Bunker after coming to blows with the rest of the group – leaving seven contestants remaining

Chris Eubank QUIT Channel 4’s Scared Of The Dark during Wednesday night’s dramatic episode.

The boxer, 56, left the Bunker after a series of rows with the other contestants who have all been bonding without him.

During a piece to camera he said: ‘It’s my last day in this construct. The real dark is where I’m going back to, where they need my assistance, whether they know it or not.

‘I am an entertainer and I’m sorry but I have other people to look after with my insight.’

He then left the bunker without saying goodbye to the remaining seven celebrities.

Host Danny Dyer then said: ‘He was the fly in the ointment of the group wasn’t he! I wonder if it will start a domino effect and the other will want to leave?’

The remaining stars were then told that he wouldn’t be returning but didn’t seem too sad about it.

Bye: Chris Eubank QUIT Channel 4’s Scared Of The Dark during Wednesday night’s dramatic episode

Oh dear: The boxer, 56, left the Bunker after a series of rows with the other contestants who have all been bonding without him

Love Island’s Chloe Burrows – who had argued with him in the past commented: ‘It’s a pride thing and he couldn’t admit that he couldn’t do it!’

Elsewhere in the show the contestants competed in a group challenge where they had to move into certain squares in the pitch black or be electrocuted.

They successfully completed the challenge and as a reward Scarlett Moffatt and Nicola Adams got to spend 30 minutes in the light chamber.

It comes after Scared Of The Dark viewers have slammed Chris for refusing to take part in the challenges on Tuesday.

The new show continued on Tuesday night and saw tensions rise among the celebrities as they carry on living in close quarters in complete darkness.

And Chris began to increasingly isolate himself from the other contestants.

In one challenge with Max George, he petulantly stopped playing halfway through after losing several rounds in a row.

Chris then refused to take part in another challenge that would win Max some time in the light.

The other celebrities tried to convince him to no avail, with him declaring he ‘bows to no man’.

And viewers watching at home were less than impressed with his actions, taking to Twitter to tell him to play the game or to leave.

One said: ‘Chris Eubank is actually a seriously nasty human being. The man is a narcissist. How truly horrible he is to these people.’

Shock: Host Danny Dyer then said: ‘He was the fly in the ointment of the group wasn’t he! I wonder if it will start a domino effect and the other will want to leave?’

Over: During a piece to camera he said he had more important things to do and said that he would not change his mind about it, before leaving the show

A second added: ‘Petulant child in a 56 year old mans body #ScaredOfTheDark’.

A third echoed: ‘Why is Chris Eubank (a grown man) allowed to jeopardise other players due to being a petulant child?

‘You signed the contract. Get the f*** on with it mate. Only started watching this tonight & I dunno how these lot are coping with him’.

A fourth wrote: ‘I’ve always thought Chris Eubank was strange, but he’s on another level of crazy in this. He is mentally unstable.’

A fifth suggested: ‘I hope someone gets the chance to win time in the light for Chris Eubank and then refuse to do it like he did to Max’.

While a sixth added: ‘Chris Eubank banging on about manners etc and he’s the rudest person in there #ScaredOfTheDark’.

A seventh said: ‘Chris Eubank is a p****. Don’t wanna play the game? Don’t go in the show.’

And an eighth agreed, saying: ‘I don’t think @ChrisEubank should of received his payment for #ScaredOfTheDark on @Channel4 because he’s not playing the game. Made himself look pathetic’.

Despite calls for him to leave by fans and by his fellow celebrities in the bunker, Chris insisted he would not quit the show.

He said: ‘Me? Walk away from a contest?’ before declaring: ‘I am afraid of nothing!’

It comes after earlier in the episode  Chris came under fire for ‘rudely’ telling Paul Gascoigne to stop ‘tragically’ talking about his life.

Gazza was asked by his fellow celebrities about the worst night of his life, prompting him to tell a story about when a man died next to him on an aeroplane.

He said he was annoyed at the passenger for ‘blanking’ him when he said he was scared of flying, only to learn the man had tragically passed away during take-off.

He said: ‘I had to sit next to him for 10 hours.’

Gazza, who has spoken openly about his alcoholism, added: ‘I just came out of rehab and I went back on it.’

However, his story provoked an angry reaction from Chris, who told him to ‘stop talking so tragically’ about his life as they became embroiled in a heated row.

When Gazza asked if Chris needed any help with anything in the kitchen, he replied: ‘I would like you to stop talking so tragically about your life.’

To which Gazza said: ‘Oneself will try.’

Reaction: Love Island’s Chloe Burrows – who had argued with him in the past commented: ‘It’s a pride thing and he couldn’t admit that he couldn’t do it!’

Doubling down, Chris continued: ‘Stop talking about your life so tragically.’

Gazza then insisted: ‘I’m not here for you, or your family, or your kids, I’m in here for me, to challenge myself.’

But Chris continued: ‘Why would you tell stories which are tragic? As though they are inspiring, no they are tragic.’

Speaking to the camera, Chris went on to fume: ‘All these stars in here, they are ill-behaved, or ill-mannered, or ill-spoken. Just be dignified!’
