Coleen Nolan, 56, has called herself “selfish” after admitting that she wouldn’t alert passengers if she found out that one of them was positive for Covid-19 during a flight. The star said that doing so would mean everyone else would have to go into quarantine.
The panellist was speaking on Loose Women, which she co-hosts, when she spoke up about the issue.
Her controversial comments were met with some shock by her colleagues.
She was asked at one point during the show what she would do if it was discovered that someone has a positive case during a flight.
She said: “I don’t really wanna tell anyone because when we get off the plane we’re all gonna be put into quarantine… (sic)

“That’s very selfish of me.”
Though it wasn’t directly referenced on the show, the discussion came after a text message recently went viral of a plane passenger typing out a message.
The message read: “We have Covid… shhh. That’s why we’re coming home a day early.”
The star said that ideally she would have stood up to the passenger, but in reality this wouldn’t have been the case.
She explained: “I would like to think I would confront them but I wouldn’t, I’d be scared.
“I would like to think I would go up to the airline staff and tell them this person’s got Covid…
“But the other thing is I don’t really wanna tell anyone cos when we get off the plane we’re all gonna be put into quarantine and I want to go home.”
She admitted that her viewpoint was selfish, saying that she would hope everyone on the flight was “masked and jabbed” and that she would just want to “go home and not be quarantined.”
Co-star Janet Street-Porter called Coleen out, saying she wouldn’t be “selfish” like her in that situation.
“I would go up to the loo and write a note and say the person in seat 16C has just sent a message to say they’ve tested positive for covid.
“Obviously if Coleen was on the plane I’d get her seat number and dob her in.”
The star was recently in the spotlight amid reports claiming that other Loose Women panellists were refusing to work with her.
Denying these claims, Coleen promised to discuss the issues on Monday’s show, but never did so under advice from her lawyer.
ITV has also strongly denied the claims, as Coleen referenced her desire to not speak about them on Loose Women yesterday.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’m so sorry we couldn’t say what we planned to do today but my lawyer advised me to go through the legal process, but rest assured you will hear the outcome of this and I will share it when I can.
“Thank you all for your support as ever, Love Coleen x.”
