Soulja Boy has revealed he’s expecting a baby boy after sharing a sweet video from the gender reveal party.
The Kiss Me Thru The Phone singer, 31, took to Instagram to announce the news, sharing an adorable video of him and girlfriend Jackie embracing in celebration.
In the video, the star is seen standing next to someone wearing a giant baby costume as he slams a ball on the grass which then explodes into blue powder, revealing the couple are expecting a boy.
The crowd then cheers and releases blue confetti as Soulja Boy – real name DeAndre Cortez Way – kisses and hugs his girlfriend.
In the caption, Soulja Boy wrote: “It’s a boy!!”
Friends and family took to the comments section to congratulate the singer on the news.
Rashad Bilal posted: "Congratulations," with J Mulan sharing the same message.
Kiki Ayers added: "Congrats!!! Exactly what u wanted."
"Little soulja comes into the world," one user wrote while another added: "Not what I was expecting to see tonight, congrats Soulja."
It’s thought that Soulja Boy’s partner Jackie is a hairstylist based in LA, although the couple keep their relationship fairly private.
The musician previously opened up about wanting a son someday.
Last year, he posted about his wishes on his Instagram Stories.
"I have everything I want in life except for a son," he said. "God please bless me I’ve been patient."
Before his current girlfriend, Soulja Boy has been linked to the likes of Rosa Acosta, Nia Riley and Rubi Rose.
He has also reportedly dated Keri Hilson, Diamond and Teyana Taylor.
Best known for his hits Crank That and Kiss Me Thru The Phone in the 00s, the star even had a documentary on his life, called Soulja Boy: The Movie, released in 2011.
Last year, the rapper hit out at Kanye West, also known as Ye, after he had claimed that his verse on his Donda album was cut without notice.
The 32-track record featured a long list of guests, including Jay Z, Playboi Carti, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and Young Thug.
Soulja Boy, however, claimed that his verse on the track ‘Remote Control’ was cut from the final version.
In a series of tweets in August 2021, Soulja Boy addressed Ye, writing: “Idk how to feel, Kanye sent me that song ‘Remote Control’ and I don’t hear my verse on it… hmm f*** that n***.”
In November, Last month, Ye apologised to Soulja Boy after claiming that he dropped him from his recent album because his verse was “trash”.
“Yo it’s Ye,” Ye wrote in a screenshot posted on Instagram. “Love you bro. I should have told you I wasn’t gonna use the verse.”
Soulja Boy responded by heart-reacting to the message, writing back: “Love you too bro. That’s all I wanted.” The post has since been deleted.
