Stacey Dooley took to social media today after her replacement on Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-up Star was confirmed. The former Strictly Come Dancing champion congratulated TV and radio star Maya Jama on Instagram, months after stepping down from the role.

Stacey, 33, who hosted the first two seasons of the make-up show, posted a sweet picture of the pair on the picture-sharing site.

“Well done superstar…!

“Keep shining @mayajama,” the star wrote alongside the snap.

The stylish pair could be seen hugging each other in a warm embrace in a behind-the-scenes snap.

Many took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts and praise the star for her supportive post.

“Women supporting women,” one social media user wrote.

“Love this support between you girlies,” another added.

A third remarked: “Absolutely adore you both!” before adding, “Gonna miss you on the show!”

“But where are you going?” another added.

Back in October, Stacey announced via Twitter that she would not be returning to host the third series of the BBC Three programme.

She wrote online: “I should also say that I won’t be able to be a part of Glow Up, series 3!

“It was such an utter delight to work with Dom [Skinner] and Val [Garland]. Total stars. And of course, a real treat to be able to meet the artists, and appreciate their creativity!

“It’s a show very close to my heart and I wish everyone involved in the next gig, all the luck in the world!”

Earlier today, Radio One DJ Maya was announced as the new host and said she “couldn’t wait” to be part of the cast.

She will be joined by returning judges Val and Dominic as 10 make-up artists compete in a series of challenges to be crowned the winner.

The 26-year-old said: “I absolutely love Glow Up and can’t wait to join the family!

“I’m obsessed with make-up and creating different looks – it’s going to be so much fun and I can’t wait to see what the MUAs [make-up artists] get up to.”

Fiona Campbell, controller of BBC Three, said: “It’s brilliant to welcome Maya to the BBC Three family for Glow Up – a show we really love which continues to grow in popularity.

“She is an ideal choice as the new host with a longstanding interest and passion for the industry and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the new series.”

Executive producer Melissa Brown said: “We’re hugely excited to welcome Maya, she brings with her bundles of energy, lots of fun and a genuine interest in the work of make-up.

“Series three will build on the massive success of series two with an incredible cast and exciting challenges with access to the world’s biggest film sets and brands.”

Series three of Glow Up will be available to stream on iPlayer later this year.
