Stacey Solomon slashes energy bill as she shares off peak tip with fans

Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has admitted she has also been impacted by rising energy prices as the price cap increase was implemented on Friday April 1.

Stacey, 32, revealed that her "bills had gone up ridiculously" prompting her to implement some changes to her routine in an effort to cut costs.

The down-to-earth star shared her daily routine with fans in a series of videos which she shared via Instagram.

She revealed that she had started using her washing machine during ‘off peak' hours and was hanging her washing out to dry rather than using her tumble dryer.

Stacey explained: “I know lots of people's bills have gone up. Mine have too and I was speaking to my provider and they said there are ‘peak hours’ when using electric so I’m trying to use the machines outside of these hours and hang dry when I can.”

Stacey was clearly bombarded with questions about her advice by fans as she subsequently told people to contact their own providers to find out their individual on and off peak hours. She also made sure to mention that you should never use your tumble dryer overnight as it is a fire risk

Stacey’s advice came as many people saw their energy bills soar amid the price cap rise which took place on Friday April 1. Money saving expert Martin Lewis had urged people to submit meter readings ahead of the increase which caused the websites of many energy providers to crash.

With prices set to soar for 22 million households, many were keen to submit their readings on Martin’s advice.

A clearly giddy Stacey said, ‘I just found out that Sort Your Life Out has been nominated for a BAFTA. I’m laughing because it’s just not normal, like it’s the weirdest feeling ever.” She also revealed the first person she called when she got the exciting news was her mum. “I just rang my mum and was like “Mum, I’m up for the BAFTA.
