Stacey Solomons BBC series hit with over 1,500 complaints amid animal cruelty claims

Stacey Solomon’s BBC show, Sort Your Life Out, was smacked with 1,500 complaints after a recent episode involving rabbits.

Stacey, who recently welcomed her fifth child and her third with Joe Swash, is the host of the show, which aims to help unclutter people's homes alongside the experts, cleaning guru Iwan Carrington, organising maven Dilly Carter and upcycling extraordinaire Robert Bent.

A recent episode saw Stacey and her team propose moving rabbits who lived in the conservatory of a house outdoors into a more typical hutch.

Some viewers took issue with the move and branded it “animal cruelty” online, while others reported the show to Ofcom.

The Rabbit Welfare Association and Trust also shared a link while encouraging followers to complain about the actions on the show.

However they also added: "Before we comment any more, we want to make it clear that we think that this is the Production company's responsibility, not the presenter, and we won't allow any comments against Stacey Solomon.

"The Production company should have done their research."

The regulator has since reported a total of 1,502 complaints, which is the most for any BBC show between January 30 and February 12.

Taking to social media, one user scathed: "Love love @StaceySolomon but so disappointed that Sort Your Life Out has shown rabbits being moved from a nice spacious indoor run to a cramped outdoor hutch, hutches are absolutely not enough #SYLO."

"Made the mistake of watching the end of #SortYourLifeOut,” another said, while a third added: "Poor rabbits got kicked out of the conservatory into a c***py, tiny, non-weatherproofed hutch outside! Completely unsuitable & irresponsible."

Someone else chimed in: "That hutch is way too small for those rabbits and where is the run @StaceySolomon #SortYourLifeOut @RabbitRWAF."

"Enjoyed this tonight until the rabbits were kicked into the garden,” another wrote, with another adding: "That hutch is too small for anything other than a bolt hole! There's enough bad rabbit rearing without this encouragement #SortYourLifeOut."

"Stacey, we were super disappointed to see the latest episode of your BBC show,” wrote Shrewsbury Rabbit Rescue. "Please refer to rabbitwelfare.co.uk and educate yourself on rabbit welfare and husbandry.

Speaking to The Mirror, a spokesperson for the BBC said: "The rabbits have full access to a wide, enclosed garden to roam around in, with the hutch being a place to come and go as they please during the day, as well as a safe and secure space for them to sleep in at night."

OK! have contacted the BBC and a representative for Stacey Solomon for comment.

Another recent episode of the TV series saw Stacey make an NHS Nurse’s day after upcycling a beloved sentimental item.

Aimee and her husband Stuart enlisted Stacey’s help to declutter their home but struggled to toss a baby chair once used by their daughter, Mollie, who has Down's syndrome.

"You've done such an amazing job, this hasn't done that job for you, you have. While that might have comforted her now and again, a cuddle would have done the same,” Stacey, who as earlier praised for keeping it real, said she consoled an emotional Aimee.

But once Aimee decided to let go of the chair, Stacey told the camera: "I think it's so incredible that Aimee has decided to let it go, but a part of me thinks I don't want to just let it go off into the abyss. So I'm going to sneak it off and try and find a way of turning it into something else.

"I just can't let it go. I'm worse than them, I tell you!" she added.
