Tilly Ramsay, 19, wrote an Instagram post in response to Steve Allen’s fat-shaming comments, which sparked outrage amongst her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars and the public at large. Steve, 67, criticised the young dancer’s weight and suggested that her celebrity chef father Gordon Ramsay had been feeding her too much.
On his LBC radio show, Steve said: “Tilly Ramsay is on Celebrity MasterChef Australia, is she?
“Well she can’t blooming well dance – I’m bored with her already.
“She’s a chubby little thing, isn’t she? Have you noticed?
“Probably her dad’s cooking I should imagine.”
Following his controversial comments, there has been huge pressure for Steve to resign from his presenting gig.
It has been reported that LBC is resisting calls to sack him, however, and he is expected to present his early morning show from 4am until 7am next Monday as normal.
LBC bosses are said to have no plans to conduct an inquiry into the presenter’s conduct and have not addressed his comments further.
It comes after Steve avoided photographers who were waiting outside the building in Leicester Square after the end of his programme this morning.
A radio industry insider also claimed to MailOnline today that those at LBC who are “slightly more progressive” might “regard Steve as a dinosaur” and want him out.
However, the source also said that Eddie Mair and Nick Ferrari both “get on very well” with Steve, and that it was unlikely either of them would want him out.
The insider added that there would likely be a “large outcry” from Steve’s fanbase if he was ousted.
The public outrage towards Steve was largely stoked by Tilly’s Instagram post, which had her 1.1 million followers up in arms over the radio host’s cruel comments.

She wrote: “I try not to read and listen to comments and negativity however recently being called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far.
“Steve please feel free to voice your opinions however I draw the line at commenting on my appearance.
“It’s such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative.
“This isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last comment made about my appearance and I accept that and I’m learning to accept myself.
“But please remember that words can hurt and at the end of the day I am only 19 and I’m so grateful for all the amazing opportunities I have been able to take part in and I understand that being in the public eye obviously comes with it’s own repercussions and I’ve been aware of this from a young age.
“However I won’t tolerate people that think it’s okay to publicly comment and scrutinise anyone’s weight and appearance. Love Tilly xx”.
The Instagram post spawned thousands of supportive comments, including one from The Great British Bake Off winner and Strictly co-star John Whaite.
He wrote: “He’s a piece of old sandpaper love, worn and used and has nothing to offer the world.
“And his vicious scratching has only left you polished and more fabulous. Love you.”
Express.co.uk have reached out to LBC who are yet to comment on these claims.
