Supermodel Lara Stone gives birth and reveals ‘very scary’ few days in intensive care

The ex-wife of Little Britain's David Walliams, Lara Stone, has become a mum for the second time.

A fashion model from the Netherlands, Lara, 39, unveiled the arrival of her beautiful baby boy Bob on Instagram this week, who she shares with second hubby David Grievson.

Uploading a black-and-white picture of the little man himself – who'll be a brother to Alfred from Lara's first marriage – on Wednesday evening, she wrote: "Baby Bob was born last week and spent a very scary few days in intensive care. We're so happy to have him home with us now, and all love him so much."

As is tradition with these announcements, the comment section of Lara's post was then inundated with congratulatory messages and red heart emojis.

"Wowowow incredible", "Congratulations To you and your family and welcome to the world little Bob", "he is so precious congratulations Lara" and "Oh Lara – massive congratulations to you & your family xxx sending you all our love xxxx," read four of the responses.

Five more Instagram users went on to add: "welcome to the world Baby Bob", "Hugest hugest congrats! Beautiful strong Bob xxxx", "God bless you Lara. Congratulations on your baby. Ooxx", "Welcome to the world beautiful Bob!" and "Oh my goodness CONGRATULATIONS Lara!! What amazing news!! Welcome to the world Bob".

This wonderful news follows a candid chat that ex David had with HELLO! Magazine, where he explained why their son Alfred, 10, has always been kept away from the public eye.

"I knew what I was getting into, this is what I signed up to. Making a television programme, being in the spotlight is unavoidable and if you're a kid, it must be quite hard," he shared.

"You don't know what they going to want to do with their lives. They might choose to do something completely private, in which case, there doesn't seem to be any advantage to being in the spotlight."

Arguably, this also stemmed from Lara's own experiences with the paparazzi over the years, who once terrified the supermodel by tailing her down the street.

She recalled during a chat with Dutch Vogue: "I'd been at [David's] house and was walking back to the Tube and this car was driving next to me and they were taking pictures the whole time. It was just so bewildering and terrifying."

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with OK! last year, the comedian-cum-actor described fatherhood as "the best part of my life by a long way".

"We have loads of in-jokes and things like that. It is just the most wonderful thing making your kid laugh," he told us.

"The most wonderful thing about kids is that if they find something funny, you can do it every day. So I sit the dog on my lap and do the dog's voice to him and he thinks that is hilarious. It is the most wonderful thing being a dad. It is the best part of my life by a long way."
